Finally, a neighbor-friendly book about Hummingbirds! A simply information about their habits, the reason for their attack/defense order. etc. (Other books offer all the different species, offer their origin, offer scientific information I will never use.) I just want to know what their little minds are thinking in my territory! I know they "know" me. When I step outside, they are all buzzing around. Every three days, I clean and refill their feeders, and when I rehang them, I better get out of their way fast! Very interesting how they survive, breed, etc....and mine are staying year round...!

Wish that there was more to the thin book. Nice book all the same.

I purchased 2 other Hummingbird books for statistical knowledge on the bird, but this book caught my attention and I am so glad I purchased it! The story is beautifully written, and having a hummer and her 2 babies live and feed on my back deck for the past 18 months and knowing the love and concern I feel for these little guys. Now after reading this couple's love and attention to their hummer and her new family, I'm sure you will enjoy as much as I. What makes this book stand out among others of it's kind was the intricate and patient photography by the author's husband. These photo's are outstanding!

This is a perfect book to give as a gift to an avid reader, nature lover, bird watcher, art lover, or even as an educational addition to a homeschool student. If nothing else, buy it and donate it to a local library to benefit the community. It was beautifully written and illustrated.

I bought three of these to go with other gifts. The book is very informative with Hummingbird hints.

Nice little book, with nice photos and great information. The only disappointment I have is that I live in the Northeast where only the Ruby Throated hummer visits. I would like to have had more information on that specific species. It may be there but I don't recall anywhere in the write-up specifying the book focus' on the southwest (yes, the Dessert Museum is featured but it is not the same as saying what the geographic focus of the book is).

This book is great for learning about hummingbirds and how they live. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in hummingbirds.
