3 year Update: Still using these jugs with no signs of wear and no failures! BTW, these jugs easily hold 6 gallons.We were using those gas cans from the big box stores and spilling gasoline all over the place while fueling our mowers. The VP Motorsport jug is a great improvement over cans with govt mandated safety features that do not work.We screwed a 3/4 inch PVC threaded nipple into the hole on top then added a threaded elbow and another threaded nipple as shown in the pictures. The threaded cap screws right on for a tight fit. Open the vent and pour away. Five gallons drain in a fraction of the time of our old gas cans and with a LOT less spillage. The large cap is easy to remove and reinstall and hasn't leaked yet. We were so pleased with our first jug, we ordered two more. They arrived promptly without damage.The large handle and the shape of the bottom provide secure control while pouring (using two hands).No reservations, we are pleased with these jugs for our purposes!VP Racing Fuels 3512 Red Motorsport Jug - 5 Gallon Capacity

Bought 2 in June 2017. Filled first one, leaked out in garage, filled second one, same thing happened. The seam on bottom split apart on both cans. Must be defective. Too late for me to return. Not really worth 1 star.

I read a few reviews about how the bottom seam was an issue, but I have a couple of these already and all of mine are fine (the one's I have I bought locally from a gas station). I ordered this yellow one because my local place only has red and white and when this one arrived I got to see what everyone has been complaining about. The bottom seam looked like it wasn't even touching. It had obvious markings of someone that tried to repair the seam with glue or something... the seam was obviously faulty and at some point someone went in and made an attempt to repair it. It may have held fluid fine, but I wasn't taking the chance with it. It looked horrible. Returned.

This is absolute junk! Bottom seam split and leaked diesel fuel all over my new truck and driveway. They CLAIM it undergoes a 15 point quality test, that they use the "highest quality virgin HD polyethylene" with "30% more material" and that this jug can "withstand the roughest treatment". Well the roughest treatment mine had was sitting in the shed under cover. It's barely over a year old. Nowhere to be found on Amazon would be contact information for warranty.

These are typically great fuel jugs and are available in a variety of colors based on your fuel needs. If you purchase them directly from VP fuels, Amazon or another reputable vendor they are good quality and defect free.However, I have recently found a few vendors on Amazon selling what must have been a "seconds" fuel jug. The corners were very thin, easily crushed and more importantly, the fuel vent on the handle was not molded correctly and would not vent.Overall great fuel jugs (we all know the CARB-crap sold at big box stores), but inspect them closely and perhaps test the vent with water prior to filling with fuel.

I run e85 in my STI and the thing drinks it like there's no tomorrow. I fill two of these bad boys up and fill her up with one jug once it gets down to half a tank. For the people that said it leaks due to the breather hole's location, they were right until I did it the proper way. When filling up your vehicles with these cans, unscrew the breather hole cap just a bit don't completely remove it. That will help eliminate most of the leaking. Great products with a good price

2 of 3 leaking from the bottom seam on first use!Could the yellow ones be defective?Deserves a 0 star review. Bought 2 of these. First one leaked from the bottom seam. Saw it leaking early enough and transferred to the empty one. Got a replacement via amazon (could not ship the old due to it having fuel residue) I received the new one and filled both up. Emptied one and left the other in the garage. It too started leaking from the seam and got all over my garage. I don’t dare to store fuel in the third one now.Other than for it not holding fuel they work great.

Quality can. If your going to use this for standard homeowner equipment, do your self a favor. Install a street el on the cap, (90 degree male x female fitting), 3/4 inch , or use a 45 degree elbow from the cap to the hose. A lot easier to use & will eliminate any leaks from the vent cap. Be sure to use teflon tape on the fittings. Of course, you can always buy a government approved can , that will spill gas everywhere , certified by government rocket scientists , who probably have never used a gas can , because they all have gardners.

Was looking for a gas can that does not leak, will need to keep looking not happy as it was quite expensive:(... better price on amazon only 35.00 can

this gas can is amazing it does it's job and with style! one tip though don't fill it up to the 20 litre mark unless you're very strong! i might have spilt a lot of gas...Whoops!
