I bought these for a Frigidaire gas stove. Exactly 4 quarters fit behind each knob, so I ordered the gray silicone locks. They arrived and I tried to install them according to the instructions in the manual. This is where I ran into some confusion. I thought they had to be installed with the thicker part towards the top of the knob, but no matter what I tried, I could still push and turn on the gas/flame. A call to Vadiff customer service was super helpful. The lady offered to send me the thicker (black) silicone locks to try. The next morning, she sent me an email suggesting that I try to install the locks with the thick part below the knob (pushing up to lock and down to unlock). I was skeptical, but tried it when I got home that evening. Voila!! That did the trick. Now I don't have to worry about an exchange. Just thought I would share this for anyone else who might encounter the same problem. I'm glad these work for our kitchen, because I was really hoping not to have to use those knob covers. Just a personal preference.I did happen to open and close the oven door while two of the locks were unlocked (i.e. dangling down past the knob) and they got caught in the oven door, but it was easy to catch and fix. It's a worthwhile trade-off for knowing that my kids won't be able to fiddle with the gas when our backs are turned!

The issue:We have several high shelves next to the stove in our kitchen. Because our kitchen is small, the stove is located in the corner near two cabinets that my girlfriend and I frequently use. On more than one occasion the knobs have been turned on accidentally by being pressed in by a hip and then turned by reaching up on tip-toe. It doesn't happen every time and normally you would notice the sound and/or the smell and turn it off immediately.The final straw:One week I got sick. My sinuses were so clogged that it had become difficult to hear and impossible to smell. I reached for a glass from the back of the second shelf. I hadn't noticed that the knob turned to about 1.5 on the stove. My girlfriend got home an hour and a half later and immediately noticed the gas smell in the house. Gas from the stove had been filling the house, mercifully, slowly. Needless to say, this could have ended poorly.The safety knob locks were easy to put on, fit snuggly, and feel quite durable. We have only had the product for a few weeks but we haven't yet had any issues. They are easy to use for adults but, I could see them presenting a real challenge to the average, inquisitive child.

I bought these after my cat turned on one of my gas burners while jumping onto the stove in the middle of the night. They're easy to install and use: you simply wedge the thicker end behind the knob to prevent it from being pushed in. When you're using the stove, just pull up on the lock and the knob can turn freely. They don't get in the way nearly as much as those clear knob covers, which is a big plus for me. The gap behind my oven knob is larger than the ones behind the burner knobs, but because of the variable thickness of the wedge part, these locks fit both just fine. Highly recommended if, like me, you have a cat who's out to get you.

For some completely bizarre reason, Whirlpool decided to make the knobs on my gas range so easy to turn that you can accidentally turn on the gas by wiping down the cooktop with a rag and not realize it until you smell gas. That means that my cats have turned on the burners more than once. There's no door to my kitchen to keep them out. I've called Whirlpool many times about this dangerous safety issue but the company has been completely non-responsive. Whirlpool tells me it's to aid people with arthritis or similar issues. Of all the stupid design choices, this one takes the cake. The knobs on my stovetop are on a horizontal surface (rather than the front of the stove) and don't lift off easily but they will come off if you lift them straight up. There's a video on YouTube that shows how to do it.They work great. I'm gone 10-11 hours every day for a job an hour away so this product has finally put my mind at ease. The gray ones are an unobtrusive addition to a stainless steel range.

I got the thinner gray set, which is almost too thick for my knobs. I like that these are silicone and not simply child-proof knob covers. I got these not to childproof, but to keep my extremely hazardous, trigger-happy electric front-mounted stove knobs from continuously being turned on after multiple occasions of near-miss disasters.These silicone locks work well in either direction. Even on the non-lock portion, which allows the knob to still be manually turned on without removal of the guard, it still provides just enough resistance to keep the knob from turning without expressly intending to turn it. These do exactly what I wanted them to do.Although there are cheaper guards available, and I do think these are overpriced for a few small pieces of silicone, don't go cheaper. I do not necessarily like the look of them on the knobs, but then again, I don't think I'd like the look of a burned down house, dead pets, or dead human family either so that is a trivial concern of no real matter. These provide the safety I was looking for, work to expectations, and provide a priceless piece of mind.

The media could not be loaded.  One of the best things I’ve bought in a long time. Clever little invention that is easy to install, easy to use, looks good, and works perfectly. I bought them after a guest unwittingly leaned against our stove knob and a few minutes later we all noticed the smell of natural gas throughout our kitchen. That dangerous situation will now never happen again thanks to these little wedges. I like that they blend in so you don’t really notice them.

Not great but not terrible either

After almost setting my house on fire due to sensitive stove controls, these sloved the issue!! They are easy to use/install, as well the appearance is good! These could save lives by fire or if you have a gas stove the leaking from elements!Anyone with sensitive oven / stove controls I strongly suggest you buy these. No more accidentally bumping the control on or little hands turning on your ovens/stoves!

This is an amazing invention and product. We have a gas stove and I was worried about my elderly family member turning on the stove when I was not home. These provide peace of mind for me and they blend right in to my stove so it looks nice too. Very happy this product was available and works very well. Easy to install as well. Highly recommend for the peace of mind!

The media could not be loaded.  These are great don't get me wrong but they just don't fit properly on my stove and the rubbed off the black markings on the stove to show if it's on or not and which lights which other then that it keep baby from messing with it ^_^

These work great to prevent my toddler from playing with the gas knobs, super easy to install and use
