POWERTEC 12 Inch Planer Blades for Craftsman 21722, 21780, Harbor Freight Central Machinery Surface Planer 95082 Planer, Replacement for Craftsman 217220 Planer Knives, Set of 2 (12804)

I have an older Craftsman planer with the heavier blades than the new ones. These blades were the exact size that came off the planer. Used them and planed dried Pecan lumber with no issues.

I replaced old blades which had bad nicks in them. New blades fit perfect and seems to be working great.

I have a delta Model 22-540 12-1/2 inch. The blades were a little thick but I made them work. I was pleased to discover that they are bi metal. Holds the edge longer. You can see the seam. What it is is a harder more brittle metal that holds an edge welded onto a softer more flexable base metal that is less brittle to prevent the shattering of the knife. Old school tech but is great for cutting. I have some wood chisels that were my grandfathers that are bimetal. Really great tools. One last feature is that they are double ground on the edge. Nice. They make little noise while cutting. That means they are sharp. The louder the blade the duller the blade.

Replaced an old set of Delta blades. I must say, I never knew a wood tool could be so sharp! When installing, I used a shop rag to wipe dust off of blade. Before I realized it, it had gone thru two layers of rags and gave me two perfectly parallel cuts. Anyways, after spending the day planing a huge stack of lumber and generating 3 kitchen garbages bags of shavings, they are still going strong. They were packaged in plastic case to protect during shipping and had enough manufacturing oils on to stop any rust. I'd consider them a bargain...
