GRASS SEEDS
There was absolutely no grass seed in this bag. I poured the contents into a big 5 gallon container to check for grass seed. There wasn't a single seed in the whole bag. The contents looked like pet food. I had to purchase a container of grass seed. Not worth buying.

TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY - PENNINGTON SUCKS!
We first used this product in 2020 and had such fantastic results, I emailed the company! After a tough season for lawns in 2022, we bought 8 bags and applied the product in early September. The lawn was aerated, limed and watered (we have an irrigation system) and we got NO results at all. I don't know that any of the seed germinated. I emailed the company a couple of days ago and expressed my dissatisfaction. The rep told me that they would, as a goodwill gesture, issue a refund - BUT I had to provide the UPC code and seed mixture tag from each of the 8 bags, along with a dated sales receipt. I happened to have half a bag left and told Pennington that they were all bought at the same time on Amazon. The rep indicated that they would issue a refund check for one bag - end of story. I will not be buying any PENNINGTON products ever again - ! Buyer Beware - hang on to your empty bags or take pictures of the bar code info or you will be out of luck if the product doesn't work, which it didn't. I was tempted to take 8 photos of the one bag I had. In retrospect, I probably should have.

Weeds
Got grass but also got a ton of weeds. Grass grew quick and green. But weeds were more dominant than the grass

I used it to fix a couple spots.
So far so good. I planted these seeds about a few weeks ago and as long as you water properly, you shouldn't have any issues.

Very different results with different locations
By now my overseeding result is basically out and it kind of proves that it's all about how you manage it. So 10 days ago I applied these to some bare spots in my front and back yard. I did the same thing on all spots - rough up the soil with a rake, apply seeds, rake a bit again to cover the seeds, throw on some dry grass (actually the thatch I raked up) and gently step on it. Not the most thorough procedures but I'd call it good enough.I then water it twice a day. Since it's after mid-Sept I figured the soil should remain moist until near noon, so generally I water around noon and in the late afternoon. By Day 5 I could see quite a number of sprouts in the backyard facing east. Not so much happening in the front facing west and getting all the afternoon sun. Today is Day 10 and I can tell the back is good - I count around 3-5 sprouts every square inch (and supposedly there should be more coming since tall fescue and KBG germinate in 2-3 weeks). I can also tell that the front is toasted - barely a few every sqft, even though I increased watering in this area since D5. So watering IS the most important thing, and you have to carefully observe the soil in the first a few days to adjust watering accordingly.
