Have not used since 2016 until today. Worked like a champ..
Downloaded Torque Lite on Mac.. plugged the reader in and...boom.. code read. POO14 Code of a 2008 H3. Cam tensioner sensor. $38 and less than an hour to replace. This tool saved me today.

It would be a steal at twice the price.
I had a check eingine indicator in my dash board lit up and I couldn't get a straight anser about what it meant from any of the numerous jokers I took my car to. I spoke with a coworker about using his ODBII scanner but he never remembered to bring it. After he told me that his scanner had cost him over one hundred dollars, I was a little apprehensive about spending less than fifteen for this unit, but all the customer reviews were great, so I gave it a shot. This tool is AWESOME. I hooked it up under the dash by the steering column and connected it to my smart phone's Bluetooth and it just worked. It told me I had an evaporative emissions control malfunction and then had links to several specific articles about that particular malfunction. Now, if there was a draw back, it was that the app software wouldn't load onto my galaxy S6 because it couldn't verify the author and it kept getting caught in my anti-virus. I DID have to buy the very same program from the google play store for like, five bucks, but I don't consider this a serious flaw because at five dollars, plus twelve for the scanner, and I still got a quality product that did everything I wanted for less than twenty bucks. I showed my friend at work with the expensive scanner and he couldn't believe it.

It can work reliably but it's not worth the wear on your car.
The function itself is fine when it's functioning. Been working for over a year. I use it with torque pro. But - I have that "sleep mode" problem with mine. It can still connect to the cell bluetooth, just won't talk to the car's computer. Such a pain. If I remote start my car and let it run for 1 or 2 minutes before my phone connects, the adapter already becomes un-work-able. You have to physically unplug and replug the obd to reset it. No other technique works. Trust me I tried them all. My obd plug and wiring on my car has taken a real beating over the many months. That's my biggest regret. Someone hardwired a powerswitch on theirs but who has time or tools for that?

I would recommend, this product does exactly just what the description says
(Setup * Torque Lite * on two android gadgets [tablet computer & phone] Plugged it in, loaded up Bluetooth on them (tab and also phone independently). After filling Torque on my gadgets I was welcomed with flashing lights from my OBD2 scan device (which in my eyes shows it's working to a degree). While surfing the basic program I had the ability to discover the scan device to figure out which mistake code(s) my vehicle was providing and because of the MIL or check engine light it was able to show me the mistake code specifically as it originated from the cars computer system. I acquired the necessary components and had the ability to fix my automobile and clear the check engine light without problems in any way. I would certainly advise this item to anyone that has an OBD2 certified vehicle. The setup has functions to show real-time throttle reaction, as well as all the computer info that the car obtains as well as present it on your gadget. I am completely wowed by its events as well as features.

Couldn't get any codes on a 2000 Nissan Sentra
My SES light has been on for about a week by the time I received this. I did a quick check of my gas cap to make sure it's on tight, which it is. I don't know if the gasket is keeping pressure, but a visual inspection indicates that the gasket is probably still good. As I didn't know why the MIL is on, I had to get a code reading to help me narrow the problem. As I'm CA, I can't just drive over to AutoZone and get a free OBDII scanning...thanks to our CA legislatures. /sarcasmI decided to buy this to grab the code (it has a high rating and fairly cheap). I had no issues connecting this to a 2000 Nissan Sentra. I'm able to connect it to my smart phone via Bluetooth. The Torque app was able to see the OBDII scanner. I know it's connected, because when I shake the car, the acceleration gauge on the app changes. I tried to pull fault codes (including both pending and historic) and it said there are no fault codes from the ECU. As I mentioned the MIL light has been on for about a week by the time I plugged this thing in. Anyway, this is going back...will try something else.

Saved me over $500 on my first use. Highly recommended!
Unbelievable. I had difficulty with my Honda Civic. Velocity was unbelievably inadequate and also the engine had random rising. The still seemed like a quake was taking place constantly. I likewise saw black puffs of smoke coming out of the exhaust. Nonetheless, I obtained NO check engine light. I bought this scanner to utilize with the Torque application for combined capabilities of: (a) assessing advanced Method 6 data to detect ongoing problems that have not caused a CEL, and also (b) keep an eye on the gas trimmings. Certainly I had -12 % overall energy trim that increased when I boosted RPMs and also the concern simply ended up being a filthy MAF sensor. cost me $8 to clean and the car rides comparable to new. I was quoted over $600 for a diagnosis from a local shop but my overall investment was barely $30 by checking out the issue myself. It took 30 secs to obtain this scanner working. plug it in, set it on your phone through Bluetooth, and begin going!
