Skeptical of parts that are not OEM, until this one blew my socks off
Long story short, these struts fit perfectly, perform as the stock Toyota's, and were a breeze to install with just a screwdriver (to remove the old struts). Didn't buy the exact Toyota brand replacements because they are asking stupid money for them. These appear to be just a solid, behave the same, and cost a fraction of the price. These struts were for just the rear window of a 2012 Highlander. They work so well that now I'm considering changing out the struts for the main door. Yes, I will be looking to buy the next set from the same manufacturer.

Great replacements for the Highlander power lift gate
My old Highlander’s lift gate won’t stay open anymore. The gas struts finally wore out. These did the job! Removing the old struts took longer than putting the new ones on. The new gas struts have an easy to remove pin, highly recommend these for an affordable replacement.

Tension too high
Bought for a 2012 Highlander. I saw another review saying they were too long, and it was close, but the real problem is that the tension is too high. It opens the liftgate pretty hard, and trying to close it is tough. We’ve used it for a couple of weeks now hoping it would break in a bit, but it hasn’t. Friends have commented on it too. I would buy a different brand. Unfortunately, these just aren’t right.

first on installed with no issues but had to really pry up on end gate to install the second one but other than that they work great

I'm happy with what I've purchased
Easy to install. Precise match. Much more powerful lifting up the gate now, but it also needs pulling hard to close to gate. Should have purchased the ones wit the brackets so that I didn't need to buy the brackets separately as well.
