Nicely Compact & Perfect For My Car!
I bought 2 of the the nice blue USB C type with a stated capacity of 64GB each. They come ready formatted as FAT32.Note that, when formatted as FAT32, the actual storage available comes down to 59.7GB from 64GB.This is normal and exactly what I was expecting. They are perfect for the USB C sockets in my new VW Golf due to their compact size.I previously used a 'standard' length pen drive, but kept knocking into it as I reached past into the under-dash central storage area of the car. These only project a couple of cm from the socket, which is great.I've had zero problems with reading and writing from and to the drives.File transfer is very quick with both my Mac and my PC's native USB C ports.I'm loading them with flac music files and my car sees them instantly and there are no issues with playback.Samsung is a good, reliable name and these drives are great value.

Reliable and Durable – Perfect for Dash Cam Storage
I purchased the Samsung USB Type-C Flash Drive specifically for storing dash cam footage in my car, and it has been an excellent choice. This flash drive's standout feature is its reliability under the continuous use demanded by dash cam recordings. The capacity is substantial, providing ample space for hours of high-definition video without the need for frequent transfers or deletions. This is particularly important for dash cam use, where you never want to miss recording crucial moments due to lack of storage. Its data transfer speeds are noteworthy. When I need to transfer footage to my computer or other devices, the process is swift and seamless, a crucial factor when handling large video files. The dual USB Type-C and Type-A connectivity further enhances its versatility, making it compatible with a wide range of devices. In terms of design, the flash drive's compact size is perfect for use in a car, as it doesn't protrude much from the dash cam, minimizing the risk of accidental knocks or damage. The build quality feels sturdy and reliable, an essential feature considering the varying temperatures and conditions inside a car.I also appreciate the simple plug-and-play functionality. There’s no need for any complicated setup; the drive works effortlessly with my dash cam and other devices.Overall, the Samsung USB Type-C Flash Drive has been a dependable and high-performing storage solution for my car's dash cam. It offers peace of mind, knowing that all my recordings are stored safely and can be accessed or transferred easily whenever needed.

Tiny drive with good performance
I bought the 512gb USB C after reading many reviews. I wanted to use it to backup my PVM file from a Mac which is the Windows system for Parallels. I wanted to backup once a week so that worst case scenario I would be able to go back a week (my important data files are on the Mac and are backed up by Time Machine). The PVM file is a 270gb file. Backing that file up to my NAS drive over the network was taking just about 2 hours. My first backup to the Samsung drive took 40 minutes!I double-clicked on the PVM file which runs Windows, and it runs from the SSD - not something you would want to do all the time, but it works.I had to format it on the Mac as 'exFat' to allow me to copy such a big file which was the only thing I really had to do.Time will tell, but initial impression is very favourable. The drive didn't seem to get hot as other reviewers have mentioned.

A fast and extremely compact USB drive - and how to check it is authentic (mine is)
I purchased my 256GB Samsung Fit Plus USB 3.1 flash drive (model MUF-256AB/APC) from Amazon itself (not a third-party seller), alongside the equivalent Sandisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 flash drive of the same capacity (also sold by and dispatched from Amazon.co.uk). These very compact drives are excellent for plugging into a spare USB socket on my laptop and leaving in place as an extra level of storage and backup capacity.Separately making the same identical, large multiple-folder copy to each USB drive in identical conditions, mounted in the USB 3.1 sockets of my Windows 10 laptop from its internal SSD (which is only the 550 MB/sec older type, so not the fastest source available, but still quite nippy), I noticed that the Samsung was the faster of the two USB flash drives - not surprising as its maximum write speed is rated at 400 MB/s versus 130 MB/s for the Sandisk. The expected difference in speed was noted in a benchmark program test of each (the first screenshot shows the Samsung Fit Plus results as drive E and the second is the Sandisk Ultra Fit, as drive D), but the real-world copying task showed a much larger difference, as after the initial few minutes the Sandisk Ultra Fit slowed down and stopped for about 5 seconds roughly every 30 seconds (to cool down, I think) whilst the Samsung Fit Plus dipped only very slightly in speed occasionally and never stopped. The Samsung’s metal USB plug versus the plastic one of the Sandisk may be a factor here. The Samsung Fit Plus is very small and neat, and appears well-made. It is very slightly larger than the absolute smallest units of this type, but all are small enough to be very convenient and hardly noticeable when left in place permanently - these “fit drives” are vastly smaller than typical USB flash drives and their visible part when plugged in is smaller than the standard USB 3.1 plug portion.I see that some recent reviewers of this Samsung Fit Plus 256GB drive believe that their units are counterfeit. The packaging and appearance of mine (shown already opened by me) is identical to the photos provided in those reviews, as apparently is the Fit Plus drive itself. One reviewer drew this conclusion after running Samsung's Magician program, which failed to authenticate the Fit Plus drive, and they were also concerned by the absence of a serial number. My Fit Plus also has no serial number, but I believe that this is normal for these. I believe that the Samsung Magician program is intended for use with Samsung's Solid State Drives (SSDs) and so would be appropriate for use with their T5 and T7 external SSDs for example, which do have serial numbers, but it is not intended for use with a USB Flash drive. I downloaded from Samsung a different program, the Samsung Memory Card/UFD Authentication Utility, which is for drives like the Samsung Fit Plus and also Samsung memory cards. When I checked my Fit Plus, it confirmed it is an authentic Samsung product.I am very pleased with my purchase, and happy to have been able to confirm its authenticity, which is exactly what I would hope and expect of an item purchased from Amazon.co.uk. I give the product 4 stars rather than 5 only to reflect that even the fastest USB 3.1 flash drive is going to be slower than an internal SSD or the current high-speed external SSD drives that connect to USB C ports and use them to full advantage - but it is of course also cheaper, very convenient and a lot smaller than those!
