Grasshopper Limited Drivers Backrest for Yamaha 1300 V-Star American Made NON STUDDED Complete System Quick Release

Bought this for my 2007 V-Star 1300 which has the lowest handlebars I've ever seen on a cruiser. Being 6'-4" I immediately switched my bars out for the Royal Star cruiser bars but still didn't get the upper back relief to make longer rides enjoyable. This backrest took 10 minutes to install (4 bolts total, easy as pie) and 125 miles later I was still grinning ear to ear as the neck/shoulder pain from hunching forward on my seat was nearly gone. Best $$$ I've spent on the bike so far! I'll still consider getting taller bars with cable extensions at some point for multi-day rides but it's a much less urgent need. I can't recommend it enough!!

Purchased for back fatigue when riding. It forces you to sit more upright rather than hunched over. It also helps when pushing a heavier bike backwards from the sitting position. Gives great support, thick, soft and love the quick removal feature. Didn't think I would like the arched top at first. It turns out I like it better than a more squared top pad, especially for mount and dismount. I have had it quite a while now and can't think of any cons. Great for us older guys.

I love the fact that I could finally give my back a slight rest, but I really do wish it was adjustable. In order to properly rest against it, I almost have to steer with my fingers, and I have really long arms so that should tell you something.

Almost lost it on the highway when I wasn't leaning on it. Gotta stay on it or remove it. Works ok but could be better

This is a very nice back rest to have. Once I finally got the instructions on how the dang things mounted. LoL. After that it took all of five minutes to get it completed. The ride now is noticeably much better. Looking for a good back rest. Yeap get this one. Easy to take on and off.

If you only have a hundred bucks and want a backrest that is what you get. It is not very comfortable and cannot be adjusted. It is better to spend twice that amount and buy a Utopia backrest.

Description perfect assembly very easily

Easy to install. Sturdy. When properly installed, it gets locked between the front and back seat but has a small play as it is meant to be removable. It does not bother me. The installation instructions need some improvements.
