I've worn Costa Del Mar glasses for years. Lot's of time on the water in the intense light in Florida; sunglasses are a tool and a requirement for performance outdoors. Smith is stepping into the fishing game so I thought I would give the Castaway's a shot. I actually like the fit and the face coverage, hence the one star.Anyone who wears sunglasses all day everyday knows that scratched lenses are inevitable and will typically occur 1 to 3 times during the life of the sunglasses. Costa's warranty program provides replaced lenses (usually between $80 and $90) when you send them in for repair. No such option with Smith Castaways.When I inquired on how to get the lens replaced, the response from Smith customer support is "Unfortunately we do not keep an inventory of replacement lenses for the Castaway. If you would like to replace your lenses you would have to look into a new pair." So effectively, $238 to replace a scratched lens.Sorry Smith, not sustainable for those that expect high performance outdoors. Bad business plan. Stay with snow goggles.

These glasses are so comfortable. I love the glare-free, natural view they provide. Wouldn’t wear anything else!

I have had Maui Jim's, Serengeti's Revo's, Ray Bans etc. Smith makes glasses as good or better than all of them. It's still a personal preference.

They are plastic lenses and are advertised as glass

The glasses were covered in finger prints and scratched
