I had read everyone’s reviews and saw that a majority of them said they received defective balloons but I ordered it hoping they improved the product but nope!!! Some of the letters were defective and I was able to just use happy bday which was ok but still disappointing that some of the balloons did not inflate

Excellent value! These looked great. I saw some bad reviews which made me a little hesitant but all my letters inflated easily and perfectly. There are no instructions and we didn’t initially understand where to stick the straw to inflate. I think many people who had trouble with the product simply didn’t find the proper pocket to insert the straw.So, finding the little round spot labeled “valve” is only half the solution to proper inflation. If you run your fingers along the valve hole you’ll notice there’s a tiny little “pocket” , it’s here you must insert the straw gently and it will slide down along a channel inside ballon. The problem is this little “pocket” is transparent and very difficult to see. Other brands have the pocket be red and it becomes quite easy to locate it. My best advice is to watch a YouTube video on how to insert and inflate these balloons, it’s what we did. You’ll discover that the pocket is always halfway or lower down the valve circle.Good luck. It was a great deal and we loved it. I understand it is also possible to deflate them via the straw and save for later use. We shall see if they survive storage.

I bought this because it had cute star designs that matched another balloon that I also bought for my baby’s first birthday coming up, but I will not be able to use this one.I received this package and it came with two H’s , Two A’s , Two Y’s , & the rest of the letters were jumbled . I couldn’t even put together the word “birthday”. I do not recommend these.

I've ordered multiple different Happy Birthday balloon banners in the past but this was the worst. The balloons were very thin and delicate and the valve on each balloon was hard to access (the opening was basically hidden underneath part of the balloon). Both of the "P"s would not hold air. One had a hole which I tried my best to tape and both leaked air around the valves. I had to wrap a rubberband tightly around the base of each balloon to keep the air in. Highly frustrating!!

This looks very cute, now that I've finally figured it out. The orange option is not metallic as suggested, but just a thin plastic - not quite what I expected, but still fun and festive.The valves were driving me nuts until I read the Q&A hint about using a comb pick. Once I had discovered how to use that, it was easy. I had been shoving the straw behind the valve, over the entire valve, every which way but correct. I'm impressed that none of the balloons got punctured. They are stronger than they look!There is an insert that says "valve" and a little below that wording, OVER, the "valve" sign, there is a later of clear plastic - it's really hard to see. The straw is to be inserted between the clear plastic and the valve sign. Put a pick or skewer (carefully) in, to open the valve, then slot the straw alongside it - MUCH less frustrating. Continue to blow as you remove the straw, so no air escapes. Pinch the valve flat at the end to ensure a seal.You can actually reinsert the straw to deflate and use again if you want to. Keep the straw for next time.

I struggled to get the straw into the valve. I tried several times and it ended up ripping on me. No amount of tape seems to fix it so the 5 year old birthday girl is going to have one deflated letter. I'm so disappointed.

This balloon banner was just perfect for a birthday celebration at the beach house. It took a few minutes to figure out how to inflate the balloon letters (you have to insert the straw just right), but my seven-year-old inflated most of them...so not hard to do at all. It's a good size banner, and it really made the birthday decor pop...not literally, none of the letters popped. I'm hoping to use the banner again, but since we left it at the beach house, I'm not sure how long they stayed inflated...they might still be!! I'll definitely buy again in different colors, it's a great decoration!!

I have inflated hundreds of balloons to do decorations with them. I am taking centerpieces, balloon archs, Hallooween decoration, you name it I have probably done. So I am very familiar with how to inflate balloons, especially this kind. These were by far the worse quality balloons that I have dealt with. I strongly think I was sold a "defective package" as more than half of the letters had a messed up valve or the little hole to hang it through would break, making it useless. Since I needed them and there was no other alternative I had to make it work and just use tape on some of the letters. Would I buy again? Yes, because I had never had such a bad experience with balloons I simply think this was a bad batch of them. However, I would give myself more time and inspect them before the actual event.

Includes string. I filled (using a manual pump). Each balloon letter is separate and has 2 holes on top to connect with the string. It's easy to miss a hole or two.I hung on my own but I think it's a 2 person job. Balloons slid off the string during the hanging process. Worked out in the end.
