Size: At 5'10" and 180lbs, I normally wear Large clothing but based on my previous purchases, Amazon suggested Medium. I am glad I did not go by my usual size or the sizing chart in the description. Medium fits me just right, nice and snug. Good length, correct size around hips, waist and chest.Material: These long johns are very stretchy. And I mean it in the full sense of the word. Trying to pull the pants up over an ankle, you might stretch them to your neck. So grab the lower portion of the pants and pull them up over the ankle before proceeding with the top half. Same with sleeves. The elasticity is what keeps the long johns nice and snug and warm. The fleece lining is barely noticeable and thin but it is present.Thermal properties: Upon opening the package, I was surprised at the thin fabric. Definitely thinner than I expected for something that needs to keep the heat in my body on cold days/nights. I wore these long johns on very cold days (50F/10C) which is very very cold to us Texans. I even rode my motorcycle with these under my clothing. I was pleasantly surprised at their ability to keep me warm. I am not sure how they would do in actual freezing conditions so I will update this review once I have more data on that.

I haven't worn these yet, so I can't say if they work or not! The material seems very nice. I'm certain that it won't bunch up and seems like it will be quite comfortable. But: the size was significantly goofy. I'm 5'7"....185 lbs....so I ordered the 'large'. I have a decent build with a broad chest, shoulders and larger biceps. The shirt was nowhere close and the pants were tight. Length was ok. Jus' sayin': The chart might be sized a little too small. I'm returning the 'L' and have ordered an 'XL'. I'll letcha y'all know how that goes.

Got these for a Christmas gift for my future son in law to wear on our upcoming trip to Montana. They feel thick and are nice and warm but they run small and had to be exchanged before the holidays. I personally, tried the large on before mailing them back. I’m 5’5” 120 lbs wearing the men's large, it’s big on me, but not enormous. I will say they are super comfortable loose! For comparison the gray shirt laying on my clean wood floor, underneath this black large is a large lounge wear shirt and it’s way bigger than this large thermal shirt. I’m exchanging for the next larger size and even wonder if I should go up 2 sizes??UPDATE: I sent the large back, my daughter said get him an extra large, but I think I should have gotten him a 2xl. He said the xl fit fine but it looks tight. The inside lining is very soft. They are made well but the shoulders seems to run narrow. Jake is wearing the XL shirt and the pants are under the white/teal/purple sweat pants. He said the pants fit larger than the top. The set is bought together. I suggest ordering one size bigger if you want a TIGHT fit and 2 sizes larger for a loose fit.

My husband and son really like these base layers. Purchased for them to wear on a trip to YellowStone where it was 7 degrees and snowing! They worked so well at keeping them warm, they aske me to order more for them to wear under their camo during deer hunting season!
