Five stars for quality, elegance, and design.I bought this set together with the Cappuccino set (8 oz.) because I wasn't sure how big they really were in real life. I am used to drinking coffee from a large mug the kind that needs two hands to carry it. Now I have my amazing Jura coffee maker and wanted something elegant that goes with it. Something transparent that shows the latte macchiato. Although this one is much smaller than my huge mug, I am really happy with it for one reason: I am not drinking the standard coffee with milk and sugar as I used to do for ages. I am now into gourmet style coffee drinking. For those who are interested in measurements, the cup is about 4-1/4 inches high and 3-1/2 inches diameter on top and about 2-1/4 inches at the bottom. And the size is perfect for my needs. As I said, five stars because the glass is really thick, the shape is beautiful, and the removable handle is a nice piece of art.Update 2/18/2013: Although the handle can be removed, you should not do that. I put the glass with its handle attached in the dishwasher. If you start removing and putting the handle back with every wash you will end up with a handle that will become loose and will not be able to hold the cup.

Make sure you read the reviews about the metal base before purchasing! I did, and I carefully inspected each of the bases as soon as I got them. They arrived packed well and in perfect condition. The metal ring is designed to slide off, and after some cautious testing I noticed that some of the rings were looser than others, making it easier for them to pop off. Luckily, as I was prepared for this. I had already purchased a tube of Dap 00688 adhesive, and cleaned and glued them on firmly before doing anything else. The adhesive is clear and dishwasher safe, which worked out perfect for it. I just wiped the excess epoxy off before it set and you can't even tell it's there.The glasses themselves are gorgeous. Beautiful design, smooth rim, flawless glass, and a comfortable, unique handle.

I bought these cups to use with my Nespresso. They look extremely elegant and have held up extremely well. The glass is thick and not one of the cups have broken (I've had them for almost a year now). They work perfectly for the Nespresso lungos or if you'd like to make a latte. For the lungo alone, only about half the cup is filled (a lungo is about 4 oz, but the cup is more narrow on the bottom). I would probably buy the 7.5 oz cups next time because of this. But the 11 oz is nice if adding milk. The only issue I've had with these cups, and the reason this review is a 4 star and not 5 star, is that the metal handle isn't the most secure. For the most part, the cup sits securely in the metal ring. But if the cup is not completely embedded in the ring, it's liable to slip out! This has happened only once to me. But I also make sure it's secure and tight every time... the only nuisance. I appreciate, however, that you can remove the ring so that you can wash the cups thoroughly. I've received many compliments on this set. I'll probably end up getting the 7.5 oz cups and 3.5 oz espresso sized cups (although my classic white cafe espresso cups are serving me well!).

These cups look and feel nice. I like the tulip shape; the glass is thick but still comfortable from which to sip. However, I cannot recommend the cups because the stainless holder does not stay on. No matter how carefully I attach the holder, when I grasp the cup, the handle begins to pop off. Had it not been for the poor handle attachment, I would have given a rating of 5. The cups are dangerous and so I will not serve guests with these cups because they would have to be instructed on how to hold them. I am using the cups without the handle because I have enough to think about without having to concentrate on how I'm holding a cup. I use the cups for coffee because I like to see the layers of the coffee and the crema. Yes, at first the cup is a bit warmer than I prefer to touch, but in a moment it isn't too warm.

I was looking for a nice cup to make Christmas cocktails in and this cup works perfectly.

It's a stylish cup, but agree with another poster that the glass part slips out of the metal band far too easily. I had one dinner guest at Thanksgiving lose the glass part as it tumbled out of the holder.If you look at the main product shot, you can see that the band sits way too close to the bottom of the glass.Also, it doesn't fit nicely into my Nespresso Latissima. They should provide better dimensions so we'd know. Ya know?It's probably too late for me to return them, but I should have. I wouldn't buy these again.

Glasses are gorgeous, durable, and stand up beautifully to washing in the dishwasher. I don't take the handle off the glass to wash it. Before I use it, I just make sure the handle/holder is pushed up as high as possible on the bottom of the glass to assure its stability. It is possible that if you don't do that, the handle could become separated from the glass - but honestly, this is a very, very easy habit to get into and a very, very small price to pay for such a gorgeous and functional cup. It has a wonderful feel in your hand and displays the crema and frothed milk beautifully atop your espresso! Love! Gave some as a gift to my espresso-loving friends and they are also in love...

Lead free! My kids love them. I name little coffees for them in these. Tea parties. Just a sip of a drink. Love it.
