Woodeze7" Round Medium-Duty (Poly) Chimney Brush - 3/8" Male Thread

All good. NPT confusion
Needed an adapter. Guessing 'NPT' refers to the stem thickness and not the threaded fitting. My existing rods have a 1/2" threaded fitting and this one has a 5/8" fitting. Found an adapter and it seems this has a lot of confusion associated. All good.

Perfect
I have a 7" stainless insert in my primary chimney and use it quite often as I burn 6-10 chords of wood a year as my primary heat source in Northern Ohio. Steel brushes are a definite no for stainless as it will scratch and gouge leaving areas for creasote to cling and reducing the wall thickness of the liner. I could not find a 7" poly brush for the life of me so this was my last resort. Unknown to me upon ordering, this was exactly what I wanted and needed. It works great, fits tight for extreme contact, and attaches right to my fiberglass rods. I use the sweep from the bottom up method on my 38' chimney liner and this brush was vital to getting it cleaned correctly. Saw some complaints about it fitting too tight, but if it didn't it would clean the way it needs to. It doesn't take a ton of effort and it helps if you ensure you are pushing the brush through with centered force and not allowing your rods to bend to one side.

worked good
easy to use

It does the trick.
Very stiff bristles though. It took quite a bit of force to shove down the flue. There is no way a weight would have pulled it down. I was a bit worried about the joints where the metal flue pieces fasten together, especially at the bends at the bottom, and in an enclosed chimney it is no easy task to repair separated joints, so you want to make sure that the flue is VERY well supported.

Heavy duty
This is a heavy duty brush and with more solid interior wires and connector than the 6" and 8" brushes available at my local big box store. The connector is 3/8" pipe thread and larger than many of the 1/4" rods sold out there.

Love it
Great item , cleaned my chimney in 10 min Just make sure you get the 3/8rods for it , I bought 1/4 but it's too soft and bends very easy. ..

... was larger than female fitting on rods that you recommend. Very inconvenient
The size of the male fitting on the brush was larger than female fitting on rods that you recommend. Very inconvenient, had to buy galvanized fitting to adapt.
