Good size complete kit
I haven’t used this meter yet but I got far as calibration. Trying to set date/time I’m having trouble and shouldn’t. I’ve used alpha trac 2 in past, so I know how to use a glucometer. The alpha is much easier but mine is now discontinued so can’t get test strips. Going to have my daughter, a nurse, help me with this. If she can’t get it set up, something’s wrong so back it will go. I read another review from back in 2020, from Desirie. I felt so bad for her as I’ve been in her place with two geriatric cats, one diabetic, one hyperthyroid. Not knowing her pets age back then, they may still be around, I just wanted to offer bit of a tip for using the lancet. I don’t use the gun with it. I just hold the lancet and poke the ear. I think the loud click scares a cat more. My boy was 17 when diagnosed. I couldn’t get blood from his ear every time in first poke. I usually could get it from the base of ear if the tip wouldn’t work. Reading her review I felt so bad for her cat, and her. I understand what she went thru! Again I guess it’s possible her cat is still around, if so I hope things are going well, if not just know you cared, did all you could for him/her.UPDATE: had help with complete set up. The meter works well. Am satisfied with this. I wanted to update review as I know companies rely on customers opinions. I have also been a direct customer of this company, have not had any problems with any other products purchased in past.

Great pet glucometer but a little pricey
Very easy to use and reads really quick. Love the product but price for the 25 test strips is a little expensive.

Must have for home monitoring
I do my own glucose monitoring for my dog. These refill strips are perfect with my meter. I save a huge amount of money doing glucose monitoring and mapping at home instead of my dog having to spend the day at the vet periodically to adjust her insulin dose. My vet also appreciated how these made it possible for me to do a week long monitoring at their recommended frequency which showed a better picture of how my dog’s insulin fluctuates over a longer time than the single day they can do in office. I also love that if I have concerns about symptoms of high or low blood glucose, I can quickly test and treat my dog without requiring emergency care or guessing what her levels might be at. My dog is my child, as an empty-nester, so these help me keep her blood glucose in the most optimal range which extends the life expectancy after diagnosis.

unreliable
Do not trust these blood glucometers. Tells me my dog's blood glucose is 181 while Freestyle Libre sensor says it is critical low, sends alarm, sugar 66. The FSL was accurate. Dog needed sugar. Very dangerous to trust blood glucometers. Had a different brand, did the same thing, ended up with insulin shock and seizures ( blood glucometer said 364, wasn't that high, seized with insulin).

A necessary purchase
I'm taking off a star only because of the price, at more than a dollar a strip. We wouldn't buy these things if we didn't have to test our feline master twice a day. The quality is good and we appreciate the convenience of them being available on Amazon, usually with quick delivery. Diabetes is an expensive ailment, between the cost of the testing device (although you only have to buy that once), the lancets, these testing strips (most expensive thing you need), the syringes, the insulin, and of course the blood tests at the vet. Just wish these were a bit more affordable

Works great
I took the time to read the instructions and set it up. I was able to code it and test it, everything worked great. Monitor is very easy to use and navigate menus. I did have a learning curve with the lancet and trying to get enough blood to get a proper reading. If you don’t get enough blood it will still read, it’s very sensitive, however it will read very low. That being said, you still don’t need much! If it’s your first time using something like this, I would suggest watching a video on how to use the lancet and how to get the ear to produce enough for a proper reading. I didn’t see any setting suggesting for the lancet either. I used setting 2 on my cats ear. 1 wasn’t enough I couldn’t get anything from that setting.

Works well, Test Strips Are Too Much
This product seems to be accurate, side by side comparisons with a human reader by my testing have been very similar (though other's mileage may vary) but the test strips are just too expensive for my taste, especially compared to human testing equipment.
