Pleasure
I only order ones that I plan to pass on to my family when I’m gone as I take good care of what I purchase and my family does the same.

Kind of interesting, but pretty girls in the old west has its limits!
The director predictably tried to turn this one into a "feminist western," but I don't think he succeeded. The four young women all begin the film working together in a brothel before being forced to start over somewhere else. Of course, they're all quite proficient with firearms, leading ultimately to a silly, far-fetched shoot-out at the end against the misogynist bad guys, in which (surprise, surprise) none of the girls gets so much as a scratch. Drew Barrymore (playing Lilly Laronette) looks really good in this one, as the beautiful young blonde actress was only 19-years old when this film was released! Her co-stars, Madeleine Stowe (36), Andie MacDowell (36), and Mary Stuart Masterson (28) all lacked Drew's 'pulchritude' (for lack of a better word). Seriously, the girl looks HOT!

~ "Bad Girls" is a nice rollicking western in the '90s style, with 4 lovely ladies in the lead roles ~
This is the second DVD release of the movie. The menu is pretty decent this time around, with motion scenes and music. 4 well known actresses come together to basically do a female version of "Young Guns". They are all prostitutes in a city where it seems they are not really well liked by most of the citizens. One day, one of them gets roughed up by a client, (Madeleine Stowe) comes to the rescue in defending her friend after the client pulls a gun and starts firing at her. She defends herself and shoots him dead. With no lawyer or "trial", most of the citizens or residents there in the saloon see this and immediately take the woman to be hanged for the crime of murder all the while the drunken sheriff doesn't know what is going on.A friend of hers comes riding into town on horseback and basically frees Stowe's character and they ride off out of town. Later on, the other two join them, leaving the "cat house" behind. They try and form a plan as to what they want to do next. Stowe's character tells them that she has put away a good sum of money, over 12 Thousand dollars in the town's bank. But, they have to go back and get it. That's when things get "dicey". While in the bank, an old accomplice of "Stowe" comes in with his cohorts and proceeds to rob it, guns drawn and all. The 4 then have to formulate a plan to get her money back from her former colleague in crime while dodging the Pinkerton's out to get her for the shooting death at the saloon in town.I would say this is a decent movie, for me anyway. There is lots of action, and the gals seem to have good chemistry on screen.Drew Barrymore looking lovely, bares her chest in a few scenes, but not full frontal. The movie is in the "Extended Cut", widescreen, good menu, good Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. The only "Special Feature" on here is the Theatrical Trailer of which the DVD description above says it isn't. It is on here though in the main menu.

Should have been more about Drew Barrymore
Maybe there's a lot that's fun in this film. Maybe it's subtly manipulative, or not too good for women or for the left-wing, either. But I think it should have focused a lot more on the Drew Barrymore character and a lot less on the other characters. They should have made it basically about her. She is pretty good-looking in the part when she wears that dress and tries to distract the jailer by showing him her legs, so they could have had her wear something like that in a lot more of the movie and doing stuff like that or stuff that looks like that a lot more. They shouldn't have had her get captured by the bank robbers, either. There shouldn't be quite so much very serious or upsetting stuff in the film. They kind of focus on the guys a little too much, like they're trying to show how cute they are.Since it's anti-historical in the first place to have women gunfighters in the old west, they should have just gone a little further with this and added some sci-fi elements, made it into a weird west story. But they shouldn't have made it overbearing and made the film basically about the sci-fi elements, it should have been more like nice touches to the story here and there that make it more interesting. I'm thinking of sort of a space western thing like Cowboy Bebop, like maybe, what if an alien civilization had come to Earth in the 1800s and given humans super-advanced technology so that old west towns were like space weigh stations where extraterrestrials could show up all the time, and cowboys could sign up to go on outer space missions. The sci-fi elements shouldn't have been anything especially creepy or revolting, like any really gross monsters.

Underrated Cowgirl Western film.
I've always loved this movie. I wish there were more good female-led westerns like this.

Script and direction are a mess but the cast is lots of fun
The script has all the earmarks of a committee effort, I suspect the actors agents were maneuvering for rewrites to favor their clients. The direction doesn't work in a number of scenes. Still, these are some of the most charismatic women in film and Dermot Mulroney fits in nicely. Watch this for the sake of the cast - even Andie McDowell looks comfortable on a horse, with a six-shooter in her hand. Drew Barrymore is loads of fun, Mary Stuart Masterson could have been better used but she delivers as much as the script allows and Madeline Stowe gets to play Marlon Brando's role from One Eyed Jacks.

madeline is hot .. but drew is super hot in this movie
best thing about this movie is drews awesome body, the plot is not very original & the action aint very realistic, the acting aint really anything special. i personally think that this movie would be better without masterson & mcdowell as they dont really add anything good to it, stowe is hot but not really great in the role but just good enough, drew barrymore is definately the star of this movie, without drew looking super hot then this movie would of flopped for sure, i will give it 4 stars but without drew then i would of give it only 2 stars but if they got rid of masterson & mcdowell & put in 2 sexier better actresses then this would be a 5 star movie for sure.yeh thats it they should of got sharon stone & jami gurtz instead of masterson & mcdowell.

These girls aren’t bad at all!
This 1994 western film is set in 1891 and differs from most in that it features four women [Madeleine Stowe, Mary Stuart Masterson, Andie MacDowell and Drew Barrymore] as the central characters. The movie opens with trigger happy Cody Zamora [Madeleine Stowe], a salon/bar girl, shooting a customer who has abused fellow worker Anita Crown [Mary Stuart Masterson] and with the two other s, the four make a break for it as Cody now has two Pinkerton detectives on her tail. Throw into the mix wandering ‘prospector’ Josh McCoy [Dermot Mulroney], ranch owner William Tucker [James LeGros] and Cody’ ex -the outlaw Kid Jarrett [James Russo] and his gang and things are bound to get complicated. But will the four get that dreamed for new life in Oregon, or will the men change everything. It’s a tale of wrong-doings and love on the run. Not to be taken entirely seriously, it contains humour and implausible costume changes galore, but it’s all highly entertaining with a number of serious side issues thrown in to keep it firmly grounded [such as land ownership, attitudes]. The violence and adult themes keep this very much out of young viewing as Kid Jarret is a sadist with a whip and takes his anger out on Cody, Lilly [Drew Barrymore] gets raped, and there is plenty of shooting to make this a regular western, including Jail escapes, train robberies and bank holdups –there’s even a ranch or two thrown in for good measure. The single disc confusingly opens to a number of copyright warnings before going into main screen which opens to play, features [7 European languages and subtitles] and scene selection. With Guns, Girls and Gatling Guns, What more do you need? There’s a good simple plot, enough guys and girls to provide eye candy and some background to each of the girls to gain our sympathy. This is good family viewing for older teens and up and with most of the ‘bad’ stuff being out of shot, mentioned or just inferred, it’s easily evening family viewing and gains a *****.

Guns for the girls!
Here we have 4 saloon girls who have to hightail it out of town following the killing of a prominent citizen, not to mention an entanglement with a bunch of outlaws. Madeleine Stowe, Andie MacDowell, Mary Stuart Masterson and Drew Barrymore in the role of our "Bad Girls". Of the four Drew Barrymore's character stood out much more so then the other three.A somewhat far fetched situation, but very enjoyable nevertheless. It's nowhere near being great, but it's not abysmal either. The kind of film I enjoy to watch to relax in front off. Three stars with a 57% on my personal rating scale.
