Northern Flicker House

I love this flicker box, as do the pair of Northern Flickers guarding it right now. My others had holes that got destroyed by raccoons this winter. They were fine for the flickers but never lasted more than one season, This box is durable and well made.

We had a beautiful male Northern Flicker roosting up underneath our front porch by clinging to the brick wall high up near the corner of our covered porch. He would come in every evening by 4 or 5 and sleep there. It was so cold. After a month or so, I bought this house hoping he would have a more suitable home. We hung it in the opposite corner at the same height where he was roosting. However, he continued to roost in his corner and never took to the house. A smaller, run of the mill bird moved in during the spring and had babies. My Northern Flicker never came back after that. Beautiful bird house made of quality wood. Only reason gave it 4 stars is because our Flicker did not seem attracted to it at all.

I am amazed at how beautiful and well constructed my woodpecker house I can’t wait to install it on our property . The construction is very sturdy and I highly recommend it to anyone considering making a purchase !

This order was purchased by my mother who is 93 years old. My brother is a birdwatcher and loves your birdhouses. My mother wanted to surprise him. It was beautifully crafted and made from quality materials. Delivery was quick and arrived in perfect condition. I can't say enough about this company. My brother was so happy to receive it and my mother even wrote a love note on the bottom of the birdhouse. A keepsake forever! Thank you.

The flicker immediately kicked out all the given shavings, and trying to replace with his own. It sounds like he is trying to expand the house, which is mounted at the top of our own house. Every morning from 5:58am - 7:30am, he is working on what sounds like a remodel, pecking away on the inside walls of his house. We're hoping not to see his pretty face appear one day in our attic. So far, it seems to be helping keep our wood siding from being drilled.

I do not know where to start! I am so happy with this well built flicker house! The day it arrived we hung it where a Northern Flicker was trying to hammer, that evening I went to check to see if he was perched in his spot. Needless to say he was. So I was hoping he would excavate the next day! He did! The wood chips that came with the box (nest) he made him self comfy! He has hammered on it breaking it in and tonight he is all moved in! He has a warm comfy house! I am so happy this company makes such well made boxes and we are happy and so is our resident northern flicker! Next project is trying to relocate our bats! Thank you!!!!!

We had a flicker banging on our roof for weeks, and calling out from our backyard tree for hours. We read that if they keep coming back to your house then they are claiming the area. We bought this bird box to see if it might find a mate and stay. We put the box up about 10 feet up. It is a well built box that meets all the necessities we read that the woodpecker needs. Within 2 weeks we had a mating pair move in. They seem quite pleased with it, tossing out the extra wood chips. We were amazed that with all the different birds in our yard, this bird box brought the exact bird we wanted. It's been fun to watch them. You'll be very pleased with this company's product. Just be sure to follow directions and know which bird you're specifically trying to bring in.

It was easy to put up and a flicker moved in not long after I did. I also haven't noticed any new holes being pecked in the house, so I'd say this has served its purpose!
