La Sportiva Womens Spire GTX Waterproof Hiking Shoes

My husband and I bought the women's and men's versions of these shoes for our hiking trip to Norway because, well, constant rain. We initially bought pairs of Salewa Wildfire 2 GTX but they were VERY narrow and painful. These La Sportiva fit perfectly. Plenty of room in the toe box. Neither of us had an issue with breaking them in and never had any hot spots. They fairly run true to size. I wear a 9 in most athletic shoes and these 9's might be SLIGHTLY bigger but when doing major hikes, I wear injinji liner socks under my hiking socks so the fit was perfect for me.

I have a narrow foot with a previous Morton's Neuroma surgery. I wore the previous version of this show for many years hiking and traveling on uneven streets and loved them as they were the most comfortable boot I ever wore, but the heel eventually wore out.I tried to replace them with these shoes which has the same description as my previous pair so I didn't even bother testing them for a few weeks. Finally, I walked in the house wearing them for a few days before my foot needed relief with ice for 3 evenings. They provided no support which I also enhance with medical orthotics. I learned too late to return them within 30 days before I learned how much bigger they are and I obviously cannot wear them.This is a large amount of money not to be allowed a refund. The shoes are still in new condition with all the tags. Perhaps Zappos and REI are safer places to buy shoes in the future!

This is probably a great hiker, but my heels slipped out in both sizes I ordered- wider than the other La Sportivas I tried. Akyra and Kaptiva were a better fit for my flat, narrow feet.

best shoes i’ve ever owned. these are my second pair of the same ones!i wear an 8.5. bought a 9 for a little extra hiking space. they are really comfy with tons of support. and great traction.

The hiking shoe I love but to send a used pair in a broken up box is unacceptable.
