If you’re looking for a little help to get creative this is the capo to getYou can use it for an Esus chord and an A chordYou can also experiment up the neck. What’s nice about this if you have a cord behind you when you’re playing out in front of itIt lets you do a lot of things you can’t do normally And it doesn’t change your cord shapes like it does when you have to tune differently your guitarI’ve been using one for years and I tried to get a friend of mine to use it. He finally used it and in one week he was able to create a number of songsThat he wouldn’t have done without it

Offers whole new sound to playing
Great capo. It was not deep enough to go onto a thicker neck (e.g., C shape further up the neck), however. So I also bought a G7 shape partial capo.

Bringing New Life Into Your Guitar Playing!
I'm 54 years of age...that age when most guitar players reminisce about playing in bands when they were much younger. Like many, perhaps an acoustic guitar close at hand to plunk on. I played rock, blues...was a frontman in the big hair 80's era. After watching a number of Antoine Dufour and Andy McKee videos of their phenomenal modern acoustic folk instrumental play and buying their music, becoming essentially a fan...I had to buy my first of several short capos. Seeing Antoine finger tap, play above the capo...well all quite amazing.I bought one of these short capos, then two...and now play as many as 3 capos at a time to create intriguing alternative tunings. The fingerstyle or strum/flat picking becomes so intuitive, and I've enjoyed many a good night now entertaining friends at dinners and get togethers. I don't need to play established songs but your ear hears variations easily and those that have some ability to make up songs on the spot will go nuts playing these capos. It seriously makes you a much better player in everyone's mind. I have played out publically again and produced a number of CD's of my own. It is like experiencing a rebirthing on the guitar and only wished I would have had something like the Kyser short capo about 25 years ago!No matter where I play out publically folks are quite taken by the sound, which strikes you as though nearly two guitar players were playing. Has real presence. Guitar players can't help but come out of the wood work to approach near and watch, and are immediately taken in and ask..."where the heck do you get one of those?"I would recommend David Wilcox's "The Partial Capo" book to help you discover the chord possibilites...the basics, tricks and so forth. I was and still am a long time electric guitar player, fan, lovin' the blues especially...but have rediscovered the acoustic guitar over the past three years or so. Don't hesitate to buy one of these and don't be surprised not to see regular music stores not carry them as they operate by supply and demand, and folks don't know what they are...but I know without a doubt that if I set up in a music store and just played freely the store would order a bunch of 'em and always have them on hand! Get one! Get two!

Adjustable
The Shubb works a little better for 5,4,3 and 4,3,2 . But this one can be twisted to cover 1,2,3 or 4,5,6 or even 1,2 or 5,6 .

Like any standard capo that allows you to change the open string "E" tuning to higher tuning, this partial one allows for a different tunings without having to retune the strings. If you place it on the second fret or any fret along with a regular capo, if desiredto come up with some unique tunings.Place it on the 5th, 4th and 3rd strings on the second fret as shown in the picture for a unique tuning with different string "opentuning" notes. E, (B, E, A) B E. You can experiment with a second full capo behind it as well..the possibilities are endlessas you capo the tuning all the way to the 5th fret. By itself it allows hammering on-off on the open strings as well to createunique momentary chords that add another dimension to your playing. It takes a while to get used to it and how to use itin your chord progressions, but just like playing a bottle neck style guitar with the cylinder on your little finger that adds adifferent dimension to the sound you hear, this little capo certainly will change your style of playing.

new voicing inspire songs
I wrote two songs (that I like and keep playing) almost immediately because the new voicings inspire creativity. There are some chord ideas included in the package, so you have a place to start from (what fret and finger positions make nice chords...).

DADGAD without Re-tuning
This cut capo makes playing in the equivalent of DADGAD capoed up the neck very easy. For example, I play a song in the equivalent of DADGAD with the capo on the third fret by using a standard capo on the first fret and the cut capo on the third fret in std tuning. It works perfectly without any re-tuning. This is a sturdy capo, like a normal Kyser capo. I am very glad I have this in my gig bag.

An Easy way to relaxed fun
This is a great little gadget, instantly provides open tuning scenarios which means it's great fun, you just can't play a wrong note (actually you can but it's less likely) Great for song writing and thrashing out ideas for songs. use it in combination with a standard Capo and the whole thing just gets to be more fun. None players are able to quickly start making a good sound which is a great way to encourage them on to more complex playing. Buy one!!!

No way to adjust pressure.
There's a spring that applies single strength without a way to adjust it, so the strings it caps are put out of tune because there's too much pressure. It might be better suited to acoustic guitar with high guage strings. One solution would be to supply alt springs to give different amounts of pressure, maybe?

Unusable and makes guitar go out of tune
It doesn’t stay on well and when I use it the strings it covers go out of tune. Not good at all
