Caveat emptor
This was poorly insulated and caused a transformer to overheat due to multiple breaks in the insulation. When I examined the reel which was 500 feet long I couldn't find an unaffected segment. Could not recommend

Defects!
I too found that this wire is missing the inner insulation in spots. I spent an entire day pulling wire only to find I have to do it all again. I should have tested it before I installed it. First time in 20 years I have every seen this problem.

Bad wire. Don't buy.
The entire roll was bad. There was continuity from one wire to the next.I could cut 3 foot pieces which would sometimes test good, but was never able to cut a functional 30 foot piece.

Bad Wire
I was using this to assembly low voltage pixel lights. I went to turn them on and they did not work. Ended up testing everything and the culprit was this wire. The insulation on the inside is thin and not flexible. It breaks on the inside of the sheathing so you cant see it. At multiple places, the different color wires ended making contact with each other. I had to take it all apart and start over again with new wire. This cost me the price of the wire, plus the cost of replacement microchips in my electrical boards that burnt out.

Ran 150ft of this wire only to find out it has shorts on ALL 3 CONDUCTORS! HAHA! Returned and got a replacement spool. Said to myself, there's no way this could happen again. Well I was wrong. Ran 40ft and found that the red/white wire were shorted again. This is the last time I will ever buy this junk wire. WHAT A JOKE! Hundreds of dollars lost replacing this wire. Buy something else.

Same problem as reported by others: I burned two ...
Same problem as reported by others: I burned two fuses on a Taco Zone Controller before figuring out that this product is woefully defective. I tested various lengths with an ohmmeter and verified the fact that the wires were shorting out (placed each probe on different wires to verify zero continuity between wires). I could not believe it when I read the ohmmeter which showed continuity when there should have been NONE.I ordered this wire a last September and only discovered the issue after a sleepless night, a lot of my time and a ton of frustration.I wish I could rate is lower than 1 star. It is a fraud! Shame on Amazon for allowing this to go on.I added a photo of the wire I ripped out in a crawl space today. I added the depiction of the $70 I spent on this. The money might as well be in the garbage can along with 500 feet of the most worthless wire on the planet. Thank God they don't use this wire on airplanes....they would fall out of the sky. I will delete this post when I am reimbursed for the $70 bucks. I would like to get my time back, but cei la vie.
