While not as good as fresh eel, this is better than any other canned fish I've ever tried. I can honestly eat this straight out of the can without adding anything else to it. As others may have said, has a bit stiffer texture, almost like jerky, but certainly not chewy. This barely has any "fishy" smell to it and would be good over rice. I should note the 4* rating reflects a purchase price of $6.48, pre-tax.What would get this to 5*? A pull tab at this price level, or two bucks cheaper.
