Disappointing Movo LV20 Failure
I purchased the Movo LV20 Dual Lav Microphone to use with my Tascam DR-40 for a project about a year ago. I tested it when I received it and seemed to be working fine. The project got delayed and I literally put in in my case and didn't use it again until the project resumed a few weeks ago. It seemed to be working fine one day and then it suddenly died the next - first one microphone then later, the other. Changed batteries twice with no result. The light on the switch glowed bright green so the batteries were not the problem. Tried it with my Panasonic TM900 and still no sound. Obviously too late to return it due to the delay in my project but felt the need to report on the failure of a nearly $50 item so soon after first significant use, particularly after reading other positive reviews. Now I am shy about purchasing two of the Movo LV10.UPDATE: CHRISTMAS CAME LATE!In my initial review, I stated my disappointment in the failure of this product, which was beyond the warranty period. So doubly frustrating. Not so fast, my friend. I got an email from Movo a few days later inquiring about my experience. They checked the warranty and indeed it was expired by two months. To my surprise, they offered to replace the unit anyway because of my unfortunate experience. It came three days later.I have just completed 22 interviews for a documentary, including some two person interviews and it is working like a champ with my Panasonic TM900. The mics are pretty sensitive but once we found the sweet spot for placement, they worked great. We boom mic'd with the Rode Video Mic Pro. Audition and Premiere Pro loved the signal in post, with the Rode feeding into a Tascam DR-40 through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2nd Gen). I had bought other Movo products, which were solidly made, so I was surprised when the first one failed. I guess it happens to the best every once in a while. But you gotta' love their eagerness to please! Count me pleased.

Pretty Good - but could be better
This dual mic set works well for quick interviews on the go. I plan to use it on our African missions, where it would not be practical to try to bring along a mixer, as I would do at home. There really aren't a lot of choices for this type of dual mic setup, running into one line, which you can use with a portable recorder or run straight into your camera. The price is definitely reasonable and the sound quality is pretty good - far better than you would get from your camera or camcorder. I find it strange to read where some guys felt the mic picked up too much sound or was too loud. In my case I had to crank up the input gain on my Zoom H1 to 80, whereas with most mics, such as the Giant Squid, I can use 65. With the gain this high you get more noise than usual. Most of it can be removed by the noise removal function in your audio editing software, but I would be happier if the mic was a little "hotter." Still, for the price, and for the fact that there are very few other setups like this, this dual mic system can play a role in your audio needs, especially for on-the-go quick video interviews. You can either run it into your camera, or sync it in post, which is no problem.

Both this unit and its replacement suffered the same problem - one of the two mikes stopped working with a few months.
Updated to reflect the fact the replacement has the same problem as the first. My first set stopped working (specifically, one microphone did), though it was cheerfully replaced and the second worked fine for about a year after replacement - then at 13 months, I realised it had the same problem. Movo is clearly aimed at entry level players given quite a few people have dud units, while others have no issues - and I've had no problems with my XLR Movo mikes so far - manufacturing must be a bit of a mixed bag.

Great lapel microphone for the price! Awesome sound.
Bought this microphone for my daughter for use with my Canon 70D. She was a videographer for a wedding, and we didn't know if we needed a lapel or a boom until the day the shoot. Turns out we couldn't use it for the wedding due to the distance we had to remain back, but we did get a chance to use it a bunch before the shoot. The build of the unit is a bit unpolished, but not poor quality. The sound is perfection. The voices were loud and clear, with absolutely no need to process in post. I would have loved to see it perform in a more face to face setting, but we have many more opportunities to try that out.Based on just the little bit of time I spent with the gear, I would recommend them to anyone that needs a very nice set of label microphones.

Only good for table distance between two people
The cord between the two mics is too short unless you’re sitting together at a table. It’s very problematic for what I bought it for - to have one person on camera and the other one off camera

IT DOES WORK WITH CELL PHONE THROUGH A HEADSET SPLITTER
IT DOES WORK WITH CELL PHONEThis item is great, sound is extremely clear and it does have big difference on recording with my Sony Alpha camera instead of using other type of mics. How does it work with cell phone? When i connect this item to my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 cell phone directly it didn't work but when i connect it through a splitter that i also bpught on Amazon.com (The splitter is StarTech.com 3.5mm 4 Position to 2x 3 Position 3.5mm Headset Splitter Adapter M/F - White Headphone Microphone Splitter - 4 pin / 4 pole and the link is http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CPEZ4J6?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0) it started working and again comparing with cell phone mic, sound is way more clear and beautiful! I use and love it a lot!

Sounds good but...
Although it has a really good sound, the audio is captured in the same stereo channel, fortunately you can separate the channels in post and mute the one you want or clean, because one is on the left side and the other on the right side, especially if you want to use it for only one speaker and have to mute one of the channel in post because it could noisy if no one is using it or if you have two speakers and want to use noise gates, you'll need to convert the stereo signal into two mono channels in order to do it correctly.

Gran producto

Geniales Ansteckmikrofon - Bin sehr zufrieden

Excellent audio quality
For the highly competitive price, I was concerned that the LV20 might be a compromise on quality - it wasn't. The sound produced by these microphones is of an extremely high standard. I can't quite believe how good everything sounds. Cables are sufficiently long enough for a standard 2 person shoot in a small/medium sized room. The build quality seems to be fine for general use - not sure if I would take it up Mt Everest though. It terminates to a standard stereo mini-jack. This then gives you one mic on the left channel only and the other mic on the right channel only. You will need an adapter to use this to record on a smartphone.Already thinking about buying a second pair for when these get worn out or misplaced!
