This spindle worked great. Mine came with all the mounting hardware. The zirc fittings were welcome as the originals did not have a way to add grease. Regarding the unthreaded bolt holes, you're using a steel bolt to go into cast aluminum, steel should have no problem with that. If you have any doubts, add some cutting paste to the bolt to make cutting the threads easy. This is my second replacement, the first one I bought has lasted several years already. (I broke both originals)

So far, these are great quality spindles and I am satisfied with them. They are identical to the OE installed spindles except these have a grease fitting on the end. I purchased bolts separately for installation, but they were unnecessary because mounting bolts are included with the spindles. Be advised that when you are removing the old spindle, the mounting bolts will most likely twist off due to fatigue and heat. Based on the size of my yard, I'll be happy if these last two seasons. One other thing, make sure that you keep the old spacer because a new spacer is not included. The spacer which goes between the spindle and blade is necessary to keep proper spacing between the blade and deck of the mower. This part worked fine for my Ariens 46" hydro mower and was much less expensive than a direct purchase from Ariens, but be warned that this did not come with the four mounting bolts as described, nor were the holes pre-threaded. By chance I had a tap on hand that fit the thread count and diameter. It was an easy job to tap the threads - but be forewarned you may need to do this as well. Quick delivery and the spindle works fine and was the correct part. Nothing in the advertising indicates that you have to fill it with grease, and since the original was sealed, I could have missed that with dire consequence. There was also no instructions included, so be advised: GREASE THE SPINDLE BEFORE USING IT!!

Part came in quick. Easy to install. The only issue was there was no hardware included even though in the description it said it was. Thank goodness my old mounting screws and spindle nut were reuseable.Also noticed the threads were not threaded. Ran my old mounting bolts thru and I'm guessing they self tapped ok as it seemed to be sturdy. Only time will tellWhen I have bought this from other places they always included the mounting bolts, spindle nut and blade bolt.

I took a chance on this for my Ariens 42" 936060 Gear Tractor. The part number doesn't match the current Ariens assembly replacement number but it is the right part. Ariens wanted $65. Shipping was 2 day on Prime. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because it's made in China. If I had ordered from Ariens I might have gotten the same thing.

This is an exact OEM replacement Spindle Assembly. It came fully assembled and included all new bolts to make the installation a breeze. This was very helpful since I broke off one of the bolt heads during removal of the damaged spindle. No running to the hardware store for a replacement. I had new bolt with my new spindle. Boy, was I delighted. I was able to complete the whole replacement project at one time. Just be sure to grease up the spindle prior to using it or you may need another one. Better price anywhere!
