View from the trenches
Good book, perhaps a little long in organizations and heraldry but otherwise good coverage.

Outstanding Book!
I wasn't too sure about making this purchase but for six dollars I figured I couldn't go wrong. This has to be the most outstanding book I have on any nation's army of the Second World War. The photos and the narratives are above reproach. This is just what I was looking for and more. I wasn't too sure about the Haynes label... all I could think of was the automobile repair manuals that carried that label, that I used to buy and use, but I was wrong. A twenty-five-to-thirty-dollar book in value as to purchase cost. Its value as a reference source on the subject...priceless.

Covers just about everything you need to know in terms of organization
I would have given this book 5 stars but it leans a little too heavily on organizational area of the British army during this period and is not what I was looking for in a book. I was hoping it would focus more intensely on the various uniforms and kit of the British soldier, which is instead only a small part of the book.

Fantastic book!
I've had Haynes book on the WW1 Tommy, the British soldier, not the later gun! This WW2 is just as good! The men, the equipment, the use of, all fantastic as usual!!!

An ideal companion to the Haynes.manual on the German infantryman
It does exactly what it says on the tin, an ideal companion to the Haynes manual on the German infantryman, what more could you ask for.

good for you reenactors out there
Good amount of detail on issued equipment itself not much on the webbing its self.
