This is a very nice book with etudes that will help any advanced cellist. The etudes are definitely not easy but they are crucial for overall improvement of cello technique.

This is a great book for learning intonation, fingers, hand position and even more. Because many of etudes are challenging, don't be deceived that the title says High School of playing the cello. It really is for college students as well. But none the less, I love it as well.

my hands hurt

My student is a sophomore in high school and has been playing since the 4th grade, this book is challenging but with the help of a good instructor it will be a great next step in his solo performing.

These etudes are challenging even for advanced players, which is kind of the point of them, I know! I wish they were ordered in a more progressive way with easiest first or with one skill building upon the one previously. Also didn't like that ALL of them switch to tenor or treble clef at some point. With 40 etudes, this book should keep you busy for quite a while. If you can make it through this book, you should be ready to play anything else you ever come across.

It is highly recommended to practice the cello daily for the advance level.
