First time in 10 years the water in my 50 gallon tank turned green after I tried different fish food. Changed the water and filter pads only good for a few days and the floating algae came back again. I Googled the problem and decided to try the UV light option. I ordered the 7W model since it is much shorter than the 11W and can fit inside my Tetra Whisper filter. With the VU light on the murky water was not so murky after two days. The water eventually turned crystal clear after 5 days. I now have the UV light on a timer so it only run a few hours a day. It has been a few weeks and the water is still crystal clear. It works!!

I used a few of these to make a sanitation chamber. It only takes about 1-2 minutes for 4 of these in a small box to inactivate all single-stranded RNA viruses (such as coronavirus). These put off ozone, so keep that in mind. For my usage, the ozone is basically confined to the box though so I do not care. To make it, I got a large box, lined the inside with aluminum foil (shiny side out). I hot glued the lights to the top. I will add a timer. All in all, these were a great value considering the scarcity of these right now (April 30, 2020)

I bought it to control the algae problem on my aquarium, i even only used it twice and it drastically decreased the algae on my tank.The only thing i didn't like was that it comes in other language so it doesn't deeply explains how to use it.Overall, great product. Just don't put it with your fish or it will kill them. You have to put it in the filter

I got this for my 55 gallon aquarium, home to a dozen Comets. The aquarium gets green from algae and algacide doesn’t seem to do a great job. Tried this 5w light and wow! It did take about a week to go from pea soup to crystal clear but it did exactly as it should. I did filter (I just used scraps of fabric and hand washed them) changes daily to remove all the dead algae. Highly recommend this great little UV sterilizer light.

Received the light today and found it to be completely defective as it will not turn on, when plugged in and switched ‘on’. To confirm it wasn’t the outlet, I tried three others (each confirmed to be working) with no success. The in-line box feels very cheap, has a hollow sound to it when tapped, and weighs next to nothing, so there clearly isn’t much of substance within it.Amazon is shipping a replacement in exchange, so I’ll be sure to update this review accordingly, should the replacement work as advertised.

Just got it from the mail today, tested it out and it never lit up, notice there's a broken piece of glass inside the bulb! Hoping to get a replacement right away.Edit: The seller responds really quick and was able to give me a replacement! Thanks!

Works exactly as described. I was hesitant to buy this one because the price was almost too good to be true. I’m glad I did!I had a phytoplankton issue in one of my aquariums and this lamp cleared it up in one (3hr) treatment.It’s slightly too large for my filter compartment so I just took my fish out of the tank for that period.Very pleased with my purchase, definitely recommend! So worth it , order a 5w for our 30 gallon tank. First pic on left is day 1 ..second pic on right is after 72 hours ! It worked better than I thought bought this as a last resort it came quickly and worked awesome! Must get if your tank is suffering from algae problem !!!!

I'm VERY pleased with the results!!! For less than 20$ I was able to fix my algae bloom problem! AND the fact that it's small enough to conceal in the back of the tank (white part) where the filter and heater are is PERFECT!)

I think that this will be helpful as a deterrent to keep water clear and turn on once or twice a week, but the only way I fully killed this problem is to simply keep the fish tank in the dark. So for 3 days I tried this light and it did help a bit. The big change was when I kept the tank in the dark for the rest of the days killing the needed light for growth. Now I believe this light can help keep it away but not truly kill it.

The fish tank was clear in 3 days , I am very happy It is a good solution to kill the green
