PylexHeavy-Duty Steel Dog Gate Kit, Black, 72" W x 72" H

Fast delivery and an easy to assemble kit with all the necessary hardware, very sturdy gate kit and looks nice with the black powder coating I visited my local big box home improvement stores and they didn't have anything like this on the shelf so I ordered it and was at my home in 3 days. It looks so good and works perfectly that my neighbor just ordered the kit to replace his wobbly old gate.

Product is Heavy Duty.After hours of research for a gate kit that could be used to build a Trellis Gate I settle on the PYLEX 11051 Heavy-Duty Gate Kit. A previous review here at Amazon with a picture of a 6' tall gate with a midsection reinforcement convince me the kit was perfect for my design. The interior angle brackets design exceed expectations, supper easy to install.Here are my Lessons Learned:1) To attach the mid cross member use four -6" Simpson Strong-Drive® SDWS FRAMING Screw. Drill a pilot hole first.2) The hinge brackets I receives were not perfectly square. No big deal, use a clamp to pry them straight against the 2'X4' frame.3) I used 3" Heavy Duty Framing Screws instead of the ones the kit provided.

Easy to build takes less than 30 to assemble.. would have gave it 5 stars but I bought two and both came bent nothing crazy

So yes, some corner brackets were received a little off from being completely squared, but was easy to fix. Was it completely necessary? Not really, since the bracket holds the frame in place and you just need to make sure your fence is straight.. I did it anyway just because..well why not.Aside from that quick fix this was a huge help for a quick and easy build for a fence door. You can clearly see by no means this is no small door, and it supports the weight with no problem at all and with lots of durability. I’ve build doors before without kits but if you want to make your life easier and know it’s durable then these metal supports and brackets are your answer. Definitely recommend and would purchase again if I need to build another gate.

I did not buy this to be a gate. I used this kit to build a strong door entering the crawl space of my home. It worked out great with the proper lumber

If you don’t own a grinder then don’t buy. I had to grind welds down to get the gates to close because the words were hitting the screw heads. Brackets were somewhat difficult to install because they weren’t straight. They were flexed from the welding process. The screws suck. I had to move gate frame on both gates because the screws Bork off when they seated.

This gate kit is rugged and strong. It makes fabricating a gate very easy, even for the non-carpenter person. I had an 8 foot gate so I installed a caster wheel at the bottom because the gate was very wide and heavy. The framing was nice and square thanks to the strong frame members. It has a very thick coat of epoxy paint to prevent rust.

These worked great. They have been installed for six months now and there is no evidence of the gate sagging or the bolts pulling out of the upright. The installation was easy and the strength of the brackets and hinge assembly made it a breeze to install by myself. I will be ordering another set for my parents fence.
