Durable, simple, effective
I almost love these. There are two cons that keep me from giving it 5 stars. The biggest drawback is that if your little one's hands are wet at all (from liquid or food), these cups get EXTREMELY slippery. The outside is a textured design, so it helps, but the hard plastic does get hard to hold if the bottle is wet. The other drawback is the shape. The wide bottom helps it from tipping (a little, but a determined kid will knock it over), but it doesn't fit well in any cup holder. My diaper bag has a little side pouch that the other cups I've used fit in perfectly, but these were a struggle to get in and out.But the pros definitely outweigh the cons. These are very durable. They are routinely dropped from the high chair or other spots and there has been no cracking at all. They have even fallen from the car onto the garage floor with no damage. There are only three pieces, which means easy clean up. The colors are translucent enough so you can see how much liquid is left. The middle of the cup narrows enough that my son was able to hold them with two hands from the beginning. He still can't wrap his hand around it enough to carry it with just one hand, but he has come up with a clever solution - he now rests the cup on his shoulder, so he reminds me of a lumberjack carrying a log on his shoulder. In fact, he now carries a lot of things like that, since he learned to carry his cup in that manner. Or he will curl it under his arm or use his hip to help keep his grip. So I suppose it was a slight puzzle that he worked out for himself. It's a learning cup! :oP But his favorite carrying position is on his shoulder. When dropped from the high chair, a little liquid will spatter out, but overall, these are pretty much spill proof, huzzah!!! I don't have to worry about spills in the car, on the couch, in the corner of the room where I didn't realize he had deposited his cup until later, etc. Overall, I highly recommend these, even with a couple drawbacks.

I've been using these for 12 years now, through five kids!
I have three children of my own, my oldest daughter is 14, a 10 year old son, and surprise!!! a 20 month old son. My 20 year old step daughter has a 4 year old son, and 2 year old daughter. So, we have had a lot of sippy cups in our house. I bought these cups for my 14 year old daughter when she was around 2 years old. I somehow managed to hang onto them and just recently dug them out. My 10 year old son used them, also. Not only were they still in great shape, but the valves were still like new! The valves have silicone, not latex, so they didn't break down over the years. I only had four of the old cups left, and they are the color changing ones. I ordered these four cups for the boys, and the pink ones for our granddaughter. The valves from the 12 year old cups fit the new ones perfectly and the new valves fit the old cups. I am blown away at the amazing quality of the cups, lids, and valves. We've tried ALL KINDS of sippy cups, from the ones that have nothing but silicone mouthpieces, to the ones with handles. Everything leaked after a couple weeks. These don't leak! All three little kids throw them around, drop them from high chairs, once my grandson even tossed his out the car window. We absolutely went back and got it, it was worth the u-turn. The only thing wrong with the cup was the valve had come out on impact and was at the bottom of the cup. They don't leak, the lids are really easy to screw on, the valves are easy to clean with a simple Q-tip, or even a washcloth over your pinkie finger. I could go on and on with stories from over the past 12 years, but I will leave it at this...these cups are worth every single penny we spent for them. Who knows, maybe we'll be digging them out in another 12 years. Happy sipping!

Not the color pictured
Photo: Top is what I ordered. Bottom is what I got.I already have the light green and dark blue cups and was hoping to get some different colors for my youngest son who keeps taking his big brothers.I do really like the cups, and they’ve stood up well in the dishwasher and to an active 3 year old boy. We’ve had them for over a year. They just need to make it easier to get the colors you want.

Actually Leak Proof!
Lots of sippy cups say they are 'leak proof' but what they mean is, they are leak proof if you close the part the straw hangs out of or if you turn this valve seventeen times or if they only remain completely upright and floating in midair. Throw in lots of crazy pieces to clean (all those valves and straws and whatchamadingers), and those other sippy cups are not only leak-proof, but they suck for cleaning, too.Not this cup! It is actually leak proof! My daughter is one of those kids that liked to bang her cup upside down on the floor and then finger paint with the milk. She gave that up after I bought these cups. So now, not only do I no longer have milk on my floor all the time, but my daughter actually sets her cups back right side up now (since any other way is no longer entertaining).Add in the fact these cups only have three easy-to-clean parts--cup, lid and a little white valve (of which they sell spares!)--and this really is the best sippy cup on the market. I love these so much, I donated all the other ones I bought and bought more of these. Sometimes I even consider using them myself since I have a tendency to dribble drinks on myself. I cannot recommend them enough!

Not a great start but managed.
We bought these to ween our son off the bottle and begin teaching drinking from a cup. Before giving it to my son I tried to suck from the spout and man did I have to use a lot of pressure to get a few drinks out of this thing. I gave it to my soon anyway and just as I thought he hated it because nothing was coming out, especially since his sucking isn't as strong as an adult. Well tried to move the little white anti drip thing around and see how to fix the sippy but in the end that damn anti drip thing ended up being the problem. Took it out and now we use these cups without it and they work fine. That said, the cups are not full anti drip since obviously the stopper has been taken out but at least my son can get a drink and begin to learn not to turn cups upside down. When the cup IS turned upside down the drip isn't a rush so it's manageable. Hope this helps. All in all, I love that I don't have to clean a lot of little parts and it was an upgrade (in my opinion) from the "tommy tippee 1st sips" sippy cups.
