Not suitable to pound in hard soil.
Ordered these to hold down landscape fabric. They are not really heavy enough and bend easily when trying to set in the ground. Found a much heavier (heavier gauge wire) pin at a local landscape supplier. Will bend if you need to pound them into the ground.

I'll buy more!
These landscape pins are great. I've bought 200 of them and will buy another 100. Yes I have a lot of mulching to do. If the soil is soft these pins work perfectly. If the soil is hardened red clay they have a tendency to bend. But all and all they do a good job.

Perfect for holding down landscape fabric. I also keep one on my workbench to pierce caulking tubes

These are pretty easy to use
These are pretty easy to use, much faster than the two pronged pins. However, for harder soils I found that extra large nails with washers was sure to drive into the ground.
