my opinion,and just my opinion, that these comments that i have read about Mr. Sam DeStefano is that the author anthony spilotro,with all do respect Mr.Dark you have done more than written about Mad Sam's refusal to hide between politics and the man in blue i and only i believe most reader's 99.9 have broke trail. Nice job T.S DARK, I SALUTE YOU.HAPPY TRAILS.

Too Long! Good book about a Nut Job, if you are from Chicago buy it.

If you want to know about the juice racket and what will happen to you if you borrow money from the outfit in Chicago, and don't or can't pay it back! good bios on many of the people you don't want to know in Chicago!

So far I am enjoying it. Very good and like it a lot.

Decent book, but quite a few misspellings. Almost like the writer copied and pasted a lot of this info from a police blotter without proofreading it. In one part he referred to a person as McNeil then as Mcnally one sentence later. I read a lot of Chicago mob books and found it entertaining. Other good ones are Gus Russo "the Outfit" or Double Deal.

This book just wasn't what I was expecting or my cup of tea. I'm a huge mafia fan but it just wasn't for me. Maybe a great read for some however.

I am planning on dedicating an episode of my podcast (Human Monsters) to Mad Sam because of what I have read about his psychotic behaviour toward his "juice" victims. Unfortunately, this is only alluded to in the book. Also, the latter half of the book is about cold case murders DeStephano is only alleged to have been involved with. There are also endless profiles of other mobsters. A lot of information I don't need. I have found more valuable data about DeStephano on websites. If you want to research the Chicago mob's juice rackets, this book provides a detailed overview. If you're looking for information on Sam DeStephano, it's a waste of your time.
