Can’t say that these completely eliminate shoe odors but they definitely help. I’ll occasionally put two per shoe if it’s particularly sweaty/smelly.

A bought a whole bunch and have every pair of my shoes stuffed with them, really reduced the odor!

I recharge my bags every 3-months.Not so sure they work well for my shoes. Maybe they remove dampness from sweat, but as for smell....errr....no.My closet seems to be less musty, but that is about it.They seem to be well made and hold up just as good.My only experience with charcoal is filtering liquids.Because they're designed to remove smells, they are scentless (the review asked me to rate them).

These work extremely well to eliminate odors. We use them in multiple pairs of shoes and I use one in my car. I have a brand new car, and that "new car" smell is all its cracked up to be, especially in the winter time. It's too cold to open windows and let the car vent, so I couldn't get rid of that toxic plastic smell. One day with the larger size in my car and what a difference it made. And the fact that they work to eliminate shoe odors is game changing. It's nearly impossible to find a product that rids shoe odors. Highly recommend. If you don't notice it removing odors, than most likely you didn't get a good charge. Just stick them in a more sunny location and I guarantee you will see a difference.

Just received a few days ago so can’t speak to longevity, but so far I love them! A little smaller than expected, but in a good way- fit perfectly in daughter’s volleyball shoes and use one for each knee pad - odors GONE in a day! I hung one next to litter box- so far haven’t smelled it! Put a couple in each vehicle …I tested it even further by putting a couple in the garage where I smoke - one right on my stash bag and it works wonderfully!!!I set them outside and was worried because it’s below freezing outside - I didn’t know if it was the sun alone or if they needed heat, so I googled it and said just needs UV light - temp doesn’t matter.I’ll update after using a few months, but so far very happy!
