the FIRST plant based product I've loved
As an animal lover, I've been a reluctant, guilt-ridden meat-eater my whole life. The problem is that I truly hate 99.9% of vegetables. Like, REALLY hate. Dry-heave-type hatred. I've tried MANY vegan and 'plant-based' products and restaurants over the years, and most leave feeling queazy from the first bite. I'm not joking. So, imagine my surprise (and pure joy) when I made and LOVED this stuff. Truth be told, I've only made the Street Taco mix so far (last night), and I may wind up hating the other two... but I doubt it. Frankly, even if the other two gross me out, I wouldn't change this review. That's how much it means to me to have finally found a plant-based product I can truly enjoy.

Plant based Korean BBQ...For real!? Yes, For real!
I grew up eating Korean BBQ and after going vegan about 6+ years ago I haven't had it, nor have a really tried to veganize it. Then I saw this product and figured why not and I'm so happy I did.The mix is super easy to make with lots of flavor! We made it into Korean bbq style tacos and nachos with veggies and vegan cheese. It also tastes great mixing it with rice and veggies, roasted seaweed and kimchi. The texture and flavor was a hit even with my meat eating family members, so I knew I had a winner. I've decided to order all their other mixes to try and hopefully those will be delicious too.

Fun New Taco Night
We eat a lot of tacos so it was time to try something different. The taste was great and my family actually thought it was turkey not plant based. It was really easy to prepare as well.

Wow. The first plant based protein that is not a compromise.
The pandemic made me look into my likely causes of death and going vegan prevents a bunch of them.I had the Korean flavor and it was a little light on flavor (easy to fix) but the texture was great.I will definitely be eating a bunch more of this as it is the first plant based protein that I would eat even if I was not vegan.

Good!
Have tried the sloppy joe mix and, yes, wow it's good. I followed the directions and only added a bit of Tabasco sauce. Delicious with good texture.

Prepare it this way! (flavor and texture improvement)
Preparing per instructions is quick but gets you a mushy, lightly flavored but not so appealing dish. You can do better. I bought this for the low-calorie count, I am not vegan or vegetarian.Flavor: replace the water with beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke.Texture: After the "meat" absorbs the hot broth you have the equivalent of soggy Grape Nuts, here is the fix: put the "meat" on a silicone baking mat covered cookie sheet. roast/broil the meat to lower the amount of water in it. (I like mine on the edge of burnt). Add in some tomato paste, maybe a tiny bit of water if it is hard to combine. Without the tomato paste you just a bunch of tiny rolling balls running wild everywhere. Note: I prepare this and use it for lunches all week, if you are doing the onion/peppers and not eating it all right away, then do the veggies separate and keep them in a separate container until you plate (or bun) them. Total calories mix total 360, broth +20, tomato paste 1/2 can 3oz +70 = 450 total. About 1/3 the calories of ground beef.Cons: This makes me gassy. I don't know how vegans can stand to be in the same room with each other.

Fantastic!
Delicious! Easy to make no fat, no cholesterol, low sugar, 8 grams of protein, how can you go wrong! On the directions it says 1/2 cup of ketchup for the honey bbq flavor, I would suggest a cup.I will be ordering more!!Missy
