Much Simpler than instructions indicate
When my old temp controller died I found this kit and decided to give it a try. I'm no electronics expert just a humble jewelry craftsman but I was able to assemble the components according to the wiring diagram and install them into a plastic junction box I had. After that it got real complicated! The programming instructions might as well have been in Greek. Videos I found for similar products left me even more confused. Finally, in desperation I went to the web site and not only found a phone number but was able to speak with a nice lady, Anooshka! I explained what I was trying to do and needed the dumbed-down version for basic temp control without all the bells and whistles. She said to give her a little time and she would send me step by step instructions to do what I wanted. Well, she did just that and I did a test run and everything worked great! The price was good even without Prime free shipping and the service was excellent!

Pottery kiln temp controller better than manual kiln
This PID controller kit is for an experienced do-it-yourself person, probably more than a typical ceramics hobbyist can handle.Requires knowlege of safely wiring 240 Volt AC and may require a fan to cool the heat sink if your kiln is more that 4,000 watts. We verified its accuracy with a pyrometer, only 3 degrees error at 1,800 °F, and have done several bisque and glaze high firings with it. Once assembled ours controls the pottery kiln much better than manual kiln controls, allows us to set the temperature and holds it within +/- 4 °F even with breezes and partly open lid during bisque firing. Can't do ramp and soak control, but much better than manual kiln heating, which is basically guessing. Included instructions are fairly bad/hard to understand, even for technically savvy. Not as good as a fully digital electronic kiln.

read others review before buying
for it saying glass annealing I assumed it had the programing to ramp and soak. I was wrong.
