Terrible
This thing is nearly impossible to use. The button is in the right spot to always be bumped by anything that comes even close to it, so these batteries aren't going to last long. The thing is so large it could use AA or at least AAA batteries, but they insisted on using the 3v "coin" batteries in it. (mine were dead when it arrived in a sealed blisterpack, and those batteries have a 5-7 year shelf life, so how long has this thing been sitting around on a shelf?) Also, it says in the instructions that you can push the button soft or hard to get two functions, but this doesn't seem to be true. it does nothing until you hear it click and then it only does the one function. it doesn't seem to be very accurate for the most part, and the laser dot is basically useless because it only measures that spot at a specific distance. using 2 dots would be nice, so you could overlap them and know you were at the correct distance, but with only a single cross-eyed laser, it's better off not having it.This is the worst of these IR thermometers i've ever seen.

Seller depicts newer model than they delivered.
Ordered a additional one to the one I have used for 4 years. Great product. Simple to use and does the job. PROBLEM was with the SELLER. They advertise the newer model but deliver the older one with dead batteries. The older one is great just wish the seller was more upfront or accurate with their description.

Convenient device
The merchandise arrived within the expected time. After removing it from the packaging it would not work as expected. After removing both batteries only one function of the 2 functions would work. I have to purchase a new battery for the other function and possibly a new one for the other as well as it is half way drained.

Wildly inaccurate device
I purchased this thermometer for my home inspection business. Sadly, it is so inaccurate that I have to purchase a new one. I have changed the batteries (yes, it uses two). I am very familiar with how to use these thermometers, so it is not user error. I like the form factor, as it is easy to carry and hold, but it doesn't do much good if your thermometer doesn't actually measure temperature.

Yep it worked as it should
Yep it worked as it should. There should be a 1-5 scale thing here that allows me to give a 1-5 grade instead of entering this text. kind of a pain in the a$$ to keep typing stuff/

It's just a Laser Pointer.
I've owned this for several years now. Recently updated the batteries..... I tried to clean the IR fresnel lens with some tissue, this produces extremely varied results, the sensor will read 10-20 degrees F, high or it seems to stay within 2 degrees F for everything else. I thought the 6 thermostats in my house varied between 1-5 degrees high, no the Sperry is just that bad. The case, design, electronic components overall appear to be good quality, it must have an engineering design flaw. The Laser Pointer function works great, too bad I don't have cats. It's time for me to do a destructive electronic autopsy to determine the fault.
