Excellent for melting chocolate!!!
This is essentially a mini crock pot. It will NOT melt the chocolate. Put the chocolate in the pot, melt in the microwave, and then put the pot in the heating unit. This is actually much faster than melting the chocolate in the Wilton pots, which I also have and don't like (the plastic handles broke off, and you can't put the pots in the dishwasher). The BabyCakes pots kept the chocolate at the perfect temperature the entire time I was using them (3 hours). No clumping at all. They also came with cool dipping tools. Would definitely buy these pots over the Wilton ones.

This doesn't melt the chocolate very fast I had it going about 1 1/2 hours before I needed it and it was just starting to melt. I melted the chocolate in the microwave I put it in the babycake the rest of the day it was great. I'm defiantly happy with my purchase despite the fact it didn't melt the chocolate. I was happy that it kept the chocolate a great Temp.

Great buy!
I was skeptical buying this after some of the reviews here but I had 180 cake balls to make so I figured it was worth a shot. This works perfect! I heated the chocolate up in the microwave before setting it in the heater it came with. It sat heated for hours, warm and ready to work with! I will never make cake balls or pops without this! Works perfect! People who complain are definitely not heating it up beforehand. Comes with two free tools that worked perfect as well! Great buy!

If you need chocolate melted and do not care about tempering this product works as described. DO not use if you need a tempered chocolate as it gets way to hot and the chocolate instantly blooms. it is fantastic for cake pops and coating with candy melts. Very easy to sue and clean, love that the ceramic pot is removable and comes with dipping tools.

Great Tool
I’ve been ‘playing with chocolate’ for a while. This little 'babycakes' has made the process of managing melted chocolate consistent. I’d been using heat trays for maintaining heat. The trays that are a little tough to get to that 'just right' temperature, not so hot chocolate burns, no so cool it's tough to coat - as the chocolate is a little too thick. This also saves time. The two dipping tools coming with it– are great, the best I have seen. I'd buy the tools on their own. I have not noticed any like what is included anywhere in the market place. I’ve melted a couple of plastic dipping tools. These made of metal – are superior in design as well as metal doesn’t melt at the melt chocolate temperatures. Many plastic tools I’ve purchased have melted or pieces snapped off especially when working with kids. Plastic is fragile for this activity. If you play with chocolate a lot - this is a fine tool with fine accessories included.

Only used it once so far, but it was one great use
I make a lot of chocolate confections and I've tried a lot of different melting pots. I can tell from the first use if one is a dud or not (Belle Fondue was a complete dud and more expensive.) For the price I thought, why not, I need an extra, I'll take a chance. This worked as well as the best one I own. I suggest putting the chocolate in the microwave first so you are not waiting a while for the chocolate to melt. This pot kept the chocolate at the perfect temperature for over a half hour, leaving me to work on my Cake Pops without making feel in a rush to "beat the chocolate" as I call it, since it showed no signs of hardening on me. Can't wait to use again.

eh it's okay
It's okay, but takes FOREVER to heat up and melt the wafers. I'd sooner just throw them in a bowl and put them in the microwave like I have been doing, but on the other side of that coin it is nice to have it consistently hot after it does get going, you don't have to keep throwing it in the microwave.

Worked great!
I attempted to make my own cake pops for my daughter's first birthday. Aside from a mishap in the microwave and burning my first batch of chocolate, it was an overall success. This little machine works perfectly for keeping the chocolate liquidy enough to dip into. Other reviewers have said it never warms enough to melt the chocolate - you must read the directions - it specifically says to pre-melt using a microwave and use this product to maintain the temperature. I made about 75 pops, and dipped them all in this little babycakes. Worked great.
