The right stuff
These nuts have always been very deliberately softer than the axle material. It's cheaper to replace a stripped nut than a stripped axle. This is a good thing - but it means that if you try to add stuff like an axle-mount kickstand, or a trailer hitch under your axle nut, you may end up stripping a nut. This is the correct replacement when that happens. Nicely made, with the correct threading and hardness. I've had to order these for three of my bikes, due to previous owners misuse.I've seen more old British bikes messed up from forcing on the wrong threaded fasteners. It's always a bad thing. This is the correct replacement. Even if it costs a bit more than you like, use the right parts and keep your vintage iron in good shape.

Just what was needed
We bought a bike for our dad and one of the nuts got damaged somehow. The nut has a weird size (13/32") which was hard to find but luckily I found it for him here. He was thrilled!

Best nut for the job...
These nuts were very tight to put on a 10.5 26something treads per inch. But they worked beautifully on Torpedo Dumatic rear wheel for the 60's

Soft stainless steel
After a few wheel removals, these nuts strip out....they suck pretty bad. Haven't been able to find anything better because of the super lame british thread pitch...

i think was less money at the time
I'm catching up on my reviews i didn't do, so I think I paid less then the now price or 117 for this item. if you need one the price is right. you don't go to a hardware store and get a sturmey archer axle nut as far as i know. so good luck.

Doesn't fit a Sturmey Archer Axel
Doesn't fit a Sturmey Archer Axle. Seller charges to return. For 2 $5 nuts, this has been a terrible experience overall. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Just what I needed
Excellent service giving an excellent product. I had been without my bike for almost 4 years because the"bike shop" couldn't/wouldn't get the right part. Had my bike back on the road within 30 minutes of receivingthis product.

Not at your local hardware store
These fit on either right or left side of the rear axle of the 3 speeds Sturmey Archer hubs. Not a standard size for most bikes.Stainless and durable.
