Fut Sao Wing Chun: The Leung Family Buddha Hand

A Rare Gem
Master Cama outlines the Fut Sao system, detailing its history and identifying some of the elements of the Fut Sao system that make the art so unique. His book is a great tool for all martial artists as well as students of the Fut Sao system. All martial artists can find value in reading through the 8 Peerless Actions and the 4 Principles section. It provides a context by which to filter your practice allowing a student the capacity to add depth to their art. I have had the 8 Actions Peerless Actions and 4 Principles hanging in my own training hall for over 10 years and use them in my teaching of the Fut Sao Wing Chun system to my students in Chicago.Whether you are a Fut Sao instructor, Fut Sao student, or martial artist, you will find this book to be a gem and I highly suggest you add it to your library. As a student of Master Cama for over 10 years it is great to finally see his dream realized through the writing of this book.

but I did hear many Great things about him
This is in no way a dig on the late Master James Cama and his skill, but this work which is less than 100 pages in length, isn't worth the 25.00 dollars I spent on it. The form within the book has no text describing the techniques or what the reader is suppose to be doing. The Two Man form has no text on what is going on, and the photos don't make it clear how the reader is to apply techniques of the form. Even in the weapons section of the book, you can't see the weapon clearly because the photos are in Black and White. I'm sorry, as someone who has been in the Chinese martial arts for nearly 40 years, I would not suggest this work to anyone. Again, I never had the chance to meet Master Cama before hi s passing, but I did hear many Great things about him, and have seen his skill via YouTube. So, I am sorry to say that this book did not do him justice.

Should be called Summary of Fut Sao Wing Chun
Its a good book in that it provides an overview of Fut Sao. I was fortunate enough to study under one of Henry Leung's students who is not mentioned in the book so I absolutely love the techniques of the system. I had heard of James Cama before along with a few of the other students who studied under Henry Leung, They were all very good and intimidating in many regards. To say the book is satisfactory is not to do the author or the subject an injustice. I just expected more based on the title. They glossed over the system and provide in depth pictures for primarily the first form. They also discuss Chi Sao a little. So I would say my only disappointment is that the second and third forms were not really elaborated on; just mentioned along with a few other things unique to the system. Either way, Its a good book and deserves to be purchased. I just felt like with an opportunity to discuss such a rarely heard of style, more would be put into it.

I like the history of the lineage just as much as ...
My Sifu lent me his copy of Sifu Cama's book before I was taken on as a student. I like the history of the lineage just as much as the actual art itself. There are a lot of secrets in the forms that you have to earn before they reveal themselves, but knowledge is always worth the patience and study. Fut Sao has changed my life for the better. I would've liked to have met Sifu Cama before his untimely passing.

I loved that the book discusses both the techniques and theory
This was the first book I have ever seen that describes the Fut Sao family of Wing Chun. I loved that the book discusses both the techniques and theory, and introduces the reader to versions of the forms that are unique to Fut Sao.

Waste of money
The book is useless, there is nothing as such unique with this style. The Chi kung exercises are done without proper instructions. Only one form is shown. I mean why make an instructional book ?

Trop peu d’informations pour apprécier le système.
Présentation très succincte du système Fut Sao.
