TrappistPreserve Blueberry

I bought this as a gift for a family member. I wanted to know if the product was any good so bought some for self and compared it to products I found on the local grocery shelves. I found Trappist to be best in flavor and also simplest, purest ingredient list. I use it on homemade biscuits and other homemade breads. It is a real taste treat. This berry is hard to find locally.

This order was for two jars. One was not sealed and leaked. The jars were in an envelope in the box, so someone sent it out even though it was leaking. That one went in the trash. Tried the other one and it had no taste, not hot, no taste of peppers, nothing. It tasted like sugary watery pectin. It may go in the trash too. I really like this brand but this was beyond disappointing.

This one is pretty good. Actually taste like oranges. It is sweetened with sugar AND corn syrup. Most marmalades these days seem to be sweetened with just corn syrup, no sugar. I'd really like to find a marmalade that is just sweetened with sugar AND has a bigger blast of orangeyness. This one is pretty good, but not great.

They use big, full, whole blueberries! If you want a smoother spread, you may not prefer this preparation. I love this. Great for toast topping, but all the better for pancakes, panna cotta, cheesecake or ice cream. Love the robust flavor. Wish they didn't use corn syrup in their prep. And yet, I also love who the profits help.

I bought this product to make jam filled cookies and they were sensational. I made the cookies for a party and there were none left over. Strawberry rhubarb pie is one of my specialties but pie was not appropriate for this gathering. The jam filled cookie was like eating a miniature pie in one bite.

I used to purchase Knotts Berry Farms boysenberry jam. But then I found this! So much better! Fresh & flavorful! So much better then chemical ridden market brands.The best with warm home made biscuits!

It came quite quickly, but for the price, I was disappointed in the flavor -- not very "peachy" -- if I closed my eyes & tasted it, I wouldn't be sure what fruit it was. It's quite sweet, and I appreciate the lack of preservatives, but I've had preserves I like better that I bought at the grocery store.

Picture shows how it arrived. Wouldn't be a problem but seller has no direct way to get a refund. Take your chances with this seller.Last time for me!
