Modern Farmhouse Mantel Shelf, Aged Oak,48"

This is a beautiful mantle. The instillation was a little difficult because the screw holes are very close to the wall making it hard to screw in but once we got it up it’s great. We love the look.

We searched everywhere for a wood mantle for our new fireplace and found this on Amazon that not only fit but seemed like it looked good. Could not be happier. Custom mantles like this were being quoted to me in the thousands. It looks custom made, was easy to install and is beautiful.

The mantle arrived well-packed with no damage and is beautiful. For mounting, you receive a piece of 2x4 and a few long screws and short screws, but no brackets or other hardware, such as drywall mounts, which I didn’t need. No instructions were included, but it was easy to figure out what to do. I bought masonry screws and L brackets at the hardware store. (Note: Only a maximum of two inch L brackets fit inside the mantle (hallow) without sticking out visibly). Turns out it wobbles a bit with installation using the provided materials and L brackets (I needed eight brackets total), so I had to purchase and use a second 2x4 to put on the top along with the provided 2x4 on the bottom. I used the provided 2x4 and large screws, which are visible, to mount the bottom because I didn’t want to see them on top. I had to drill small holes and use screws that weren’t visible on the top. There’s a little give, when wiggled, but it’s solid and sturdy. I really love the look of the mantle, which we put off-center to make it more modern looking on our large brick wall. This product should come with better hardware, including masonry hardware, and instructions. Otherwise, it’s great!

Transaction was good and item was as described. Wife needed to return the item since it didn't look right against the new stone fireplace. Wife missed the seller charging a 20% restock fee which seem's excessive for return's. Just need to make sure the item is exactly what you want or look for other seller's that don't charge this fee.

Needed a new mantel but wanted a more “meaty” look that added character to the room. Although risky to buy online where you can’t see the actual product ahead of time, I trusted the reviews. Glad I did. It came in and the box was so huge I was a little worried. I put it up pretty quick (easy to install) and it looks fab! Now be careful that you have the space....this monster came in much bigger than expected (not the width) but it was 10” deep and 5.5 inches thick. I love it, but you may need to verify your dimensions.
