Apples to Apples Party Box Tin - Toys R Us Exclusive
W**R
Keep yourself entertained!
Overview:This game is brought out at almost every party I run, and keeps many of us in hysterics, we've played enough that we've declared some cards as "Auto-win" cards. As long as you have friends who have open minds and creative thinking, this game will be fun, even if some of the cards are "dated".Gameplay:There is a set of instructions about how to win, and etc. You can follow these, however when we play we have our own "house rules" where we don't care about winning and we just keep playing til we want to do something else. You deal out 7 cards from the red decks to all players, then you select someone to act as "Judge". The Judge flips up a Green Card and every player except the Judge puts a Red Card from their hand face down. They then draw to replace the card they just played. The Judge then decides based on his own criteria which Red card is closest to the Green Card by their own reasoning and that player takes the Green Card. After a player collects so many Green Cards they are declared the victor. In addition the game comes with several blank cards which you may either write your own various quirks, or may leave blank as cards which people can call out whatever they are thinking.Problems:I do not recommend this game for travel as the tin has a tendency to "pop" open spilling cards everywhere. In addition the cards will need massive shuffling to get out of alphabetical order when you first initially start playing. My main issue is I have not found a proper card sleeve, preferably clear that actually fits these cards. The card sleeves for Yugioh which are the smallest I've found to date are correct in height, however still too wide, and this is something I find rather necessary as the game is played a lot. In addition to this, I find it more convenient to remove the tray inside the tin, and replace it with several deck boxes holding the cards as it eliminated the "pop and spill" problem mentioned previously.Warning:Some of the language on the cards may be "too offensive" for the overly politically correct.Recommendation:Buy.Nitpicking:This isn't exclusive to Toys 'R' Us and shouldn't be listed as such. I found my copy in Barnes and Noble since I had a coupon.
