Abbott Research Group De Odor Works, Stainless Steel, One Size Appropriate for Every Woman

Amazing product. It really leaves you with a cleaner sensation after showering, at a level I never felt before. I ALWAYS use a loofah, and have tried many natural soaps over the years. But this product really does a great job. Besides, its a one time investment. As far as body odor, it has a long lasting effect. I shower in the morning using the De Odor, and when I get home afternoon I'm still smelling fine, and that's without using deodorant. I also bought an Ebook for called "Body Odor Eliminated," and have been using his advice. Together with the advice from that book and now with this product, I am happy to say I am finally odor free (at least 99%!).

A wide variety of fragrances cause me to suffer migraines. Even though the deodorant I've been using doesn't seem to directly affect me, I want to keep those chemicals off my skin. With that in mind i chose to try this SS bar. I waited for the weekend just in case it didn't work - I didn't want to put coworkers in an unpleasant position. I'm amazed at how well this worked!! The next morning I notice no odor - this is a better result after 24 hours than with using my old deodorant!!

I bought this product with the hope that I could stop creating some trash in my life (every bit helps, right?). Unfortunately, it doesn't really cut it.I can't even tell if it does anything compared to doing absolutely nothing for your underarms, but it certainly doesn't work nearly as well as an aluminum-based deodorant. After a couple weeks of switching over to the metal bar, I started noticing that my armpits generally smelled a bit more...human. I suppose the smell wasn't bad immediately after showering. But, by the time the end of the day rolled around, I easily notice the odor and it wasn't really pleasant at all.This product might work for people who produce little sweat, but for someone like me that sweats like the average/above-average person, it just didn't get the job done. I still don't understand the science behind how this product works, either.

For me, the jury is still out on this gadget. I tried using it a couple of times, and I couldn't tell a difference. I must admit that I don't have the patience to rub as long as I need to in order to eliminate odor. Also, I tried to rub it all over my body, and that doesn't work very well, as it keeps drying out which makes it difficult to rub. I suppose if one is patient and wants to take the time to make it work, it'll do what it is supposed to do. As for me, I prefer something that requires less time and effort.

Both my wife and I have been using this for a little less than a week and it really does work. We have used it and then exercised. While we got sweaty, "de odor" kept the odor at bay. We are buying more to give to our grown children.

I must mention, at first I was very skeptical about using a stainless steel bar in place of deodorant. I had heard about the bars that chefs use for onions, garlic, and fish odors so I thought I would give De Odor Works a try. In the past I used antiperspirant and had a terrible time getting the residue out of my clothing, not to mention it would actually seem to make me smell stronger the day after (before I showered.) About 2 years ago I switched to straight deodorant (without antiperspirant) but that also leaves a residue - although once the built up aluminum was out of my pores, I certainly smelled a lot less than before. Unfortunately, there are not many deodorants /non antiperspirants out there to choose from and most of the ones at the store didn't have a pleasant fragrance. So after many trials with several brands, I ended up using a very high end deodorant which cost $15 a stick and only lasted a month. The cost was starting to add up which is why I decided to "experiment" with De Odor Works. The first few days I exfoliated my skin with a loofa before hand, then used the steel bar for the 30 seconds in the shower (per the instructions.) Shockingly enough, it actually does work! I have not worn deodorant in over 3 weeks and any smell I do notice (for example the morning after) is EXTREMELY light compared to what it was in the past. In fact, the more I use it the better it seems to get. I can see a difference in my clothing as well, no icky residue to scrub out. I've actually gone through and tossed some shirts on the rag pile which were too stained to recover. I would recommend the De Odor Works bar to anyone who does not want to use antiperspirants with aluminum or for people who seem to "build up a tolerance" to regular deodorants. Even if you just don't want to deal with the clothing residue, this is worth a try. I'm looking forward to the true test when summer gets here, but so far so good! ;-)
