Excellent Value - Great fun for our 2 1/2 year old
The media could not be loaded. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the size, quality and value of the ship.It is thick cardboard, so it should be put together with care to ensure the best possible shelf life.We lined the inside with heavy white shipping tape. This really helped keep it together very well.It was a Christmas gift for our 2 1/2 year old daughter and certainly a favorite. My wife painted it to give it a realistic look and it came out fantastic. We've had multiple children ages 1-5 play in and around it, like kids will do (fairly rough), without any issue.I would absolutely recommend this ship. For the price, it is a great value. If you take a little time to ensure you put it together well and add a bit of tape to keep it sturdy, you'll be in good shape. It is definitely worth the price. The video shows pretty well how cool you can make these cardboard playsets look. This was our first from this company and we'll certainly look into more in the future. Note the pirate doll and treasure chest in the video were things we added in to complete the playset for her.

Fun for the kids
My children, ages 8, 7, 6 and 3 love this cardboard ship. We ordered it around Thanksgiving and the kids colored it in and named it the Mayflower. They even put on a Thanksgiving play using it. It came with markers and instructions. The assembly only took about 20-30 minutes. The instructions were OK -- just a little hard to make out because they are in black and white and the contrast of the printing wasn't great. As far as durability goes, it's made of cardboard so don't expect miracles. The kids can crush, bend and tear it. This is expected from a cardboard toy. When it gets too beat up, or this kids lose interest you can recycle it. One thing that keeps me from five stars is the smell of the cardboard materials. This thing did not smell good when we first opened it. The smell dissipated after several days. In all, it's a great addition to our children's "dress-up" and "make-believe" play.

Great ship for imaginative play
My 3.5 and 1.5 year old love this ship. Assembly was not all that difficult in comparison the the similar cardboard train we received as a gift last year. The only thing my son asked for this year over and over was a "paper pirate ship". Thank goodness they make one!! I also like that there is a large opening in the top to let light in, and so I can supervise activities in the ship. It doesn't feel as enclosed as the train did. I haven't even told them about coloring it yet. Waiting for the initial excitement to wear off. Coloring tends to renew their interest for awhile. This will probably last several months but is by no means a permanent play thing. packaging tape helps to secure the joints and extend the life. Great product!

Great fun for the kids!
My girls absolutely loved this. It was easy to put together and you have the option of coloring it in which we did. We spend an entire afternoon putting together and decorating our pirate ships for the girls to have their adventure in. We have gotten some great memories from this, will definitely buy again!

Fun for pretending
I got this for my son who is in love with all things of the sea (pirates, mermaids, octopuses, squids, etc). He already had the pirate full costume since that's what he was for Halloween. He was thrilled when this came and we couldn't wait to put this together so he could start playing with it. It took about 20 minutes to put it together and I think the trickiest thing was the steering wheel. I have had it for a while now and it is still standing strong. I did tape somethings together so it would be sturdier. My son put a blanket in there and pretends to sleep in there like a real pirate. I got the pirate map too!

SUPER COOL PIRATE SHIP!!!!!
I love this pirate ship! In my opinion, it is brilliantly designed. Goes together and comes apart easily. And the graphics are super cute. It is the perfect size for my 4 year old son. He is going to flip out when he sees it Christmas morning. The wheel even turns. I am a Scenic Artist and I am painting it up super cool, but if you don't have the skills or the tools to do that, a kid can use crayons or markers. It is sturdy cardboard, but will probable get bent up with normal play. Still worth it! The company was thoughtful enough to turn the box inside out...so my kid couldn't see what cool thing was hidden in the delivery box. If I had room in my house, I would buy all of their products. For kids with active imaginations, it is perfect! I wish I had invented it!

beware assembly time required
this ship was ordered for kids to color and play with during a 3 year old birthday party. it was big enough for about 4 small kids to be inside at the same time. it held up well during the 3 hour party with a lot of kids interacting with it. We have had it three weeks now in the basement and it is begining to fall apart and will require some duct tape to keep it together a little longer, so more durable than i had expected. the major drawback to this ship was that it required an hour and three adults to assemble. the instructions looked difficult and like engineering drawings that were very hard to follow. Many many pieces parts and none were labeled to corespond to instructions. easier instructions and less assembly woul dmake this a great product!

My son loves it
It took two adults twenty minutes to put it together. It smells as cardboard and for those sensitive to chemicals it will cause some discomfort, it has passed a week now and it better smells. Now to the fun part, my son plays with it every day and he explores the seas, caves, sea creatures and new vocabulary about pirates and scientific discoveries about the ocean. We play together and even the dog has fun with it (under supervision), the dog can stick his head through the cannon holes :) my son pretends he is a monster octopus :) and there we go in pursuit! Argh!We have not painted it yet but the pens that came with the kit are certainly not enough, I am not sure yet what kind of paint we will use.Overall it is a great toy, and it is highly educational.
