Q: does it work in cold weather?

Yes, of course. I live in a four-season climate. The Septic system is immune to cold weather. Moreover, these bacteria producing enzymes create heat in their activity. The ground area above the septic tank always melts snow/ice first. In addition, because many of the items that go down the drain kill off these bacteria, adding them promotes digestive activity. Moreover, they carry over into the leach field and prevent it from glazing over. I've used these products for more than 30 years. Replacing a septic tank and leach field is inordinately expensive.
