This is a great "non-diet" diet book. Describes more of a way of eating that should be practiced regardless of what you're eating or who you are. Everyone could benefit from eating the way Marc David suggests, and he provides pretty solid evidence to support his suggestions. Personally, I'm more satisfied and have less indigestion eating with pleasure and awareness, as opposed to eating in front of the tv or while surfing the internet on my phone. It doesn't seem like it would make a difference, but it does. And a big difference at that. Highly recommended book and a pretty short read.

Phenomenal Book!
This is an excellent book. In a better world, this would be the model for American eating. The author beautifully integrates common sense with mindfulness and science as applied to the way we eat to show that all of the mania about different fad diets miss the boat on the underlying reason we as a nation have such issues around food...we eat too fast! We eat our thoughts and our feelings, just as we have been marketed and conditioned to do. But this isn't a downer or diatribe...it's exceedingly positive and clear with the certainty that each of us can bring immediate and impactful changes to the way we eat and the way we live.

🍏🍎 What a phenomenal book! Have A relationship with food.......🥧🥑😋
This is one of the most unusual books about managing our eating habits I've come across. Its a bit older than todays diet books, but this one has a better approach. After reading and applying the steps in The Slow Down Diet, I lost 15lbs. Also, more importantly, made my mealtimes more relaxed and enjoyable.I loved reading this book because it’s so holistic. It focuses on our relationship with food, who we are as eaters, and how our mind, emotions, thoughts, and feelings impacts our metabolism as well as how we digest and assimilate a meal.When Marc encourages us to make a “pleasure inventory” list, he’s talking about writing down the things that give you pleasure and make you feel nourished, such as certain healthy foods, exercise, people you spend time with, hobbies you get lost in, or music you just listen to.Definitely recommended to everyone looking to transform their relationship with food. Some of the insights and ideas from this book really helped me to create the meaningful change! 🍏🍎🥧😋🥑

Everyone should read this book!
If a person had only one book to read on dieting and nutrition, it should be this one. Fascinating and so true. I love the science behind the points of what everyone should be doing to be healthy and feel better. What a great read.

Everything I always knew in my heart confirmed!
I've taken two different online coursee all about how my real issue with food has nothing to do with food and now I see that all of their teaching were founded on Marc David's principles. This book is a love note to our bodies. This book is an opportunity to stop the madness, stop looking for validation from the outside world and turn inward to our bodies, and the Divine and listen to what we've always known all along - that we are enough and we can find peace within. The Slow Down Diet is about slowing down your life and focusing on what matters in turn you will see that your body will respond naturally. You don't have to fight your body - she is on your side! Thank you Marc! I am a fan for life!

So many keys to understanding!
I am a RN and understood many of the scientific concepts behind nutrition but did not have much regard for the emotional aspects. I love how the author provides great research and compelling stories to convey his truths. I have tried many of his tips at the end of the chapters and I am finding eating to be a more enjoyable experience. Thank you!

Helpful support for HOW we eat to improve our relationship to food and our bodies
One of the best books I've found that has helped me to slow down with appreciation as I eat. Marc builds a great case for staying in "heart-coherence" while eating to improve nutrient absorption and improve digestive issues. I found his support for paying attention to HOW we eat as much as WHAT we eat very helpful. He addresses both. Grateful to have found this book and will read it many times.

Vielen Dank an Jan Philippi, Diplom-Psychologe und Life Coach. Er hat dieses Buch bei unserem Teamseminar empfohlen und ich muss sagen, es ist echt gut. Ganz anders als alle Diat Bücher, die ich je gelesen habe.Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Aufgabe, sich mal zusammenzuschreiben, welche Diäten Du im Leben alle bereits hinter Dir hast und welche Erfahrungen Du mit Deinem Körper und dem Thema gemacht hast.Manchmal sind es nur die geistigen Blockaden, die uns daran hindern, abzunehmen. Und der Weg ist das Ziel!
