I've had this about a year. It fits in my Osprey day hiking backpack. In that sense, it is both convenient and supremely annoying. I have to remove everything from my backpack to put this thing back in, and once it is in, it takes us so much space that it's hard to fit anything else! However, it does work well and I haven't experienced any mold or foul taste, so that's a plus.On several occasions I have found that the bag slips out of the black clip that is supposed to clamp it shut, losing my precious water supply and drenching my stuff! For this reason, and because of the extreme hassle it would be to try and refill this and purify the water on the trail, I've decided to go back to a plain old Nalgene water bottle. However, if you are doing a simple day hike and don't need to worry about refilling your supply, this works well for the money. Just make sure you check the clamp before the bag slips!UPDATE: I've also found that even without slipping the top seal, water leaks out of somewhere and drenches all of my stuff. I will be replacing this bladder.

Excellent and cheaper replacement for hydration packs
This hydration bladder has a great design that is compatible with several styles of hydration backpacks. One was purchased for my EVOC blackline bike pack and it fits perfectly. I liked it so much that I got one for my Camelback HAWG. The construction is sturdy and the pack has all the features like an insulated tube and a mouthpiece cover that are usually found on more expensive units.Note to manufacturer: If there were one are for improvement it would be to replace or offer a 90 degree bite valve. The straight bite valve works fine, but to get a good flow, you have to turn your head slightly in the direction of the tube. Not ideal when you are riding a bike or hiking. This pack would be 100% with a 90 bite valve.

A truly cleanable hydration bladder with excellent structure and capacity
Got two of these for long day hikes using different backpacks. Was able to use easily in a Gregory J38 and a Gregory Jade 38, keeping in mind that the Gregory packs can also do light duty overnight backpacking. I love that the bladder is easily opened wide at the top for cleaning, something I have not been able to do with any other hydration bladder-and I have a lot of them. Just peace of mind being able to thoroughly clean the bladder. I really like that the bladder is 3 liters, which you don't have to fill all the way. Even my partner, who does not hike as much as I do, was able to throw this into his thin collapsible daypack that does not have any means for hanging the bladder and with just a liter of water, it did not fold over or collapse and the water flowed easily. When we got home from a short hike, I was able to easily clean with warm, mild soapy water, rinse thoroughly and hang to dry. If you leave water in the bladder for long periods, be sure to use a few drops of bleach or vinegar to clean later -but really, you don't want it to get that bad. Also, never a good idea to put a sports drink or juice into a hydration bladder -save it for bottles, as your hydration tube, probably before the bladder itself, could develop bacteria or mold.I am very pleased with these bladders and they will be my "go-to" internal hydration choice. Another positive is the insulated tube, the retractable (just give it a little pull) bite valve and the easily removed/replaced cap that is attached to the tube. This is a big plus in colder weather. I know there are fleece sleeves for bladders for colder weather, but I am not sure there are any to fit this size. Nevertheless, it would be quite easy to construct one out of a piece of fleece or neoprene. A larger hydration bladder, such as this one, is much less likely to freeze up in mild winter conditions. I would recommend this bladder to anyone needing a substantial hydration bladder that is a snap to clean.

Great Bladder...NO leaks!
I gave this 4 stars because of complaints that people are saying it leaks. I have hiked THOUSANDS of miles and have had many bladders. This one is a keeper...IT DOES NOT LEAK! The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it comes without instructions. I believe the leaking problem that some are complaining of is due to not sealing it properly. Especially if this was your first one, you would not know how to properly seal it. The water tastes fresh and it's very easy to clean. Definitely recommend!!

This is a MUST HAVE for anyone that owns a hydration pack
This has made cleaning my husband's hydration bladders so much easier! I used to hate when he would want to use one because of having to try to get it clean, but these cleaning brushes have cut the time spent cleaning one in half at least. The folded up metal one is flexible and can be shoved through the entire length of the tube. It folds together for easy storage. I definitely recommend this cleaning kit and honestly if you own a hydration pack you really should invest in one of these cleaning brush kits. You will be amazed at just how simple cleaning them is after trying your first time. There's no way to reach everywhere without them, so your bladder is not getting as clean as it can without them.

Pretty awesome and love the insulator
This bladder is awesome. I upgraded my old one from a 2L and fits pretty good in my overnight backpack. I also like how the straw is insulated and keeps my water cold from the sun beating on it. better than taking a swig of hot water. First time tasted a bit like plastic but washed well that it doesn't taste bad anymore. way better than some others i have tried.Comes with awesome cleaning supplies, i would recommend getting a bladder drying hangar to make drying way easier in high humidity areas like i am to last even longer.

Product not as listed
I purchased this product because the image shows the brush/sponge type material at the end of the bag brush. I selected this product over others because I needed cleaning into the sharp recesses of the bag.The brush does not have the end piece. The product is not as listed mor as pictured. I could have received a better package value without the end piece on the brush. The end piece was the required item in the buying decision and the product I received os not as pictured.
