EXCELLENT
Never thought I would like this book. I forced myself to start reading it. Boy oh boy was I wrong. Definately an excellent book. This story got me hooked from page one. Doug had a very hard life from youth until his older days. He went through hell and high water to survive. Loved his Mama Rita and family members. He is definately a survivor. Highly recommended book. Pooh ya !!!

Great book
The cover is weird. Where was the cameraman that his leg looks so distorted when the picture was taken? Did no one bother to edit this during the publication process? Nowhere in the text does it mention that his leg is abnormally large compared to the other one.

My mother LOVES this book.
As kids we grew up listening to Doug Kershaw and were even able to see him in person a few times. We were able to see him after a show and talk to him too. When we heard about this book, I bought it for my mother; she doesn't read very much any more but she thoroughly enjoyed Doug's book and is so happy I bought it for her. She knew a lot of the stuff about him already but there's always more to learn about people and he's a very special performer, character and man.
