I’ve kept my horse at Caumsett state Park / Marshall Field Estate for several years and was curious about its history. This books gives you an abundance of the parks background accompanied by beautiful historic pictures ..

I thought the book was a well written coverage of an interesting era in American History. I lived on the estate as a young person, and the pictures and stories were identical to by many memories.

What a beautiful book! This book transports you back to the era when people enjoyed peaceful country pursuits, a sporting life, and excellent manners. One can't help but be enthralled by the beauty that was Caumsett. Elegant lifestyles and dignity earned through hard work are illustrated with each photo. Worth the price and the coffee table display.

Super fun to read. Each time I look at the pictures, I find something new to make me reflect on the lifestyle of the time. Read at home, on a plane, or at the beach ---but read it. Great way to explain lifestyle changes and history to your children, too!

I love the park and I enjoyed reading about all the details that make the past and the lives of the family and staff come alive. I can’t wait to go back to the park and look for the marker where the prized cows and bull are buried.
