The Alps: In Panoramic Paintings

Fascinating book of drawn alpine maps
Messed up my previous review of this book!I've always been fascinated by how Heinrich Berann et al drew their panoramic maps of the Alps, showing every possible perspective from the viewpoint of a particular town or area in one map. In reality it would be impossible to see everything that the maps show. But it's a real art and fascinating to spot the various landmarks whether on the ground or as I have been doing recently, via Google Earth. I have many of my own from my various visits to Europe, especially during the winter season so was really glad to have found this book with pages and pages of them to study and enjoy! I have marked the book down a star because an unfair majority of them are from places in Italy, many of them covering the same areas. Also, the place names are often difficult to read and are often missing. Other than that it's a good purchase and will keep me amused for some time!
