Agrinova XenTari Zünslerfrei is a highly selective insecticide for the biological, effective and sustainable control of free-ezeing butterfly larvae and owl species. The product is permitted for non-commercial users in fruit, vegetable and viticulture. Successfully fightable, among other things, caterpillars of owl butterflies (charcoal), winder species (fruit shell rollers, grape rollers), moth species (boxwood moths, cabbage mothers), cabbage whitling and frost tensioners. XenTari is listed in the resource list for ecological farming in Germany. Contents: 25 g with the biological active ingredient of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Aizawai ABTS-1857 trunk in granulate form. Active ingredient content 540 g/kg base body with 15,000 IU/mg. Approval number and approval holder: 024426-00 - Sumitomo Chemical effect: The Bacillus thuringiensis aiwai is a very selective bacterial that works exclusively against butterfly caterpillars. The caterpillars absorb the first non-toxic crystalline endotoxin (protoxin) of the bacteria with the food (leaves and other plant parts). Due to the enzymatic cleavage of the protoxin in in the intestine of the insects, the toxin unfolds its toxin. It binds to insect-specific receptors of the intestinal wall and causes holes in the intestine. The consequence is that the insects quit their feeding activity within 24 hours and die of liquid loss and blood poisoning after a few days. Agrinova XenTari caterpillar-free works selectively against butterfly caterpillars, other insects (e.g. beneficial insects such as bees) are not endangered. Application: use by non-professional users permitted (pest fruit, viticulture, cabbage vegetables). Optimal control results are achieved when using the product from hatching the first larvae (larvae stages L1 - L3) and in warm-dry weather conditions (temperatures above 15°C). The product is simply dissolved in water and sprayed onto the plants

Diagnosis, treatment and suggestions
I had to treat quite a lot of Buxus (box) over the past month and this was the second product I tried. This was cheaper than using Topbuxus because it contains 25g of Xentari instead of 15g. The strength of the insecticide (Xentari) is the same for both products.DIAGNOSIS:If you are unsure if your Buxus is suffering from box moth or box blight then look inside the shrub. The presence of webbing is a sure sign of it suffering from box moth. Box blight on the other hand is a fungal disease which results in both stem dieback and leaves turning brown with specks of black, all without any kind of webbing. With box blight you’ll either need to cut it back or use a fungicide to remove it. This product will not help.APPLICATION:The packaging suggests using one spoon(1g) of Xentari to a litre of water . This I found to be inadequate on those which I treated first. The second batch of buxus I treated were done with double the dose which clearly stopped them dead in a few days.Don’t be tempted to use a watering can to apply this. Not only will using a watering can use up the product very quickly, it wont treat the underneath of the leaves where the moth larvae are found. Using a cheap 1 litre hand sprayer is more than enough to do the job, and also makes it super easy to get the dilution right. Just make sure you also put the spray head inside the shrub to ensure all both sides of the leaves are coated.Be careful of spaying grass and other plants with this as ended up with a lot of dead grass around the buxus I treated. It is labeled as pet friendly. However, I would suggest keeping pets away from it for a few hours as this is how long it takes for the product to be absorbed into the leaves. This insecticide is also safe for those important insects in our garden, and to birds which can feed on them.If you are concerned about waiting three days for this product to arrive then get your fingers inside the shrub and remove as much webbing and caterpillars as possible, followed by using a hose to flush the shrub. It won’t solve the problem but will delay the damage the caterpillars can do during those few days.SUGGESTIONS:Being as this treatment will only be effective for around ten days before being broken down by UV light, I’d recommend buying one of the many box moth traps to warn you of their presence. This way you can be sure to start using the product as soon as the moths start breeding.ABOUT ME:I’m a professional gardener who for the past twenty years has, and still does, maintaining exclusive properties which are individually valued in excess of 2 million pounds.CONTENTS:• Sealable plastic bag with 25g of Xentari• Measuring spoon (1g)• Two information leaflets in English

Brilliant stuff, kills box tree caterpillars within 24hrs
My box bushes have been ravaged by box tree caterpillars - tried Bug Clear which did nothing, picking them off one by one which was too time consuming and warm water with fairy liquid - nothing worked with these things. Tried one dose of this, and within 24hrs most were dead of at least stationary on leaves and not eating making it much easier to remove.

Works for cabbage white caterpillars too
This was recommended by Charles Dowding (no dig, organic, market gardener). It works on my brassicas - it has really protected my plants this summer. The sachet of granules is easy to use: 1 tsp per litre of water. Spray. Job done!

Kills the critters in one hit
The media could not be loaded. To be fair, I didn’t have a one litre spray bottle handy. I had a 300ml bottle and used the provided scoop to make up two bottles, one for each hedge. So probably quite a strong concentration but it killed the gits pretty much on contact. I started with 25g and have 23g left. Based on initial findings I am hopeful that my wife will be happy with the state of her box.I didn’t spray yesterday 17 June 2022 as it was the hottest day of the year.I sprayed today 18th June as it’s overcast and moist.Nice work guys. This stuff is the dogs.

Good product. Will be buying again.
Ordered for my mum who has been anxious over the state of her buxus past 2 years. She noticed the recovery of the buxus soon after using this product. Easy to measure out powder using the mini spoon. She's very happy with the results. It also works out better value for money. Did comparison to other products on market before buying. Will definitely be buying again. The packaging is slim which is good. No unnecessary plastic or cardboard. Customer service from seller was also excellent.

Very good product
I am always sceptical about anythign that comes in under the 'biological' label. Well, this product works! You will need 2 or 3 applications, but those buggers have their days counted. It helps as well to be aware early that you have an infestation of these caterpillars. My plants are back to their splendor with a few visible scars and improving big time. Buy it! is great value for money as well.

An excellent product that destroys the caterpillar problem quickly and efficiently. Recommend! Used annually by my mother, and she has subsequently recommended it to neighbours who have the same plant. Excellent product.
