We have seen many more birds since we put these up.

We're in southwest NC, and the orange dough has been a big hit here with many birds and, unfortunately, also with squirrels. Thought I'd try the variety pack to see if I could find something birds like but squirrels not so much. After 5 days, not a single bird has pecked at the Woodpecker dough, including no sign of interest from our Downy Woodpecker. The Insect dough holds some interest (but not a lot) for our mockingbirds, wrens and bluebirds. The squirrels don't like either the Woodpecker or Insect dough. Haven't put up the two nut doughs yet, but I'm sure those will be plenty attractive to the squirrels at least. Onward in the search for the perfect bird food!

I live in central MA and the birds here, especially hairy woodpeckers, love them! I've also seen it attract bluebirds, sparrows, chickadees, and white-breasted nuthatch. (Turns out squirrels love them, too.) The cakes are easy to install with minimal touching and no mess. I'm unsure about the actual variety between the "flavors", but they all disappear fast. They also do seem melt-resistant as advertised, and don't leave a gross sticky mess on my feeder. Definitely recommend!

Less mess than suet. Squirrels are not interested in it. Lasts longer than suet. They don't attract finches or sparrows, but the same larger birds. Woodpeckers galore.

The birds like it and that's what matters. It does not come in a plastic tray to slide into holder but it fits the tray from the last one I bought so I can reuse that. Good for the price!
